happythoughts 0 #34 November 12, 2002 Quote a relationship is more then just money.... but Ill buy her tixx if she buys mine. After reading all these posts, I am thinking that my chances are pretty bleak. No honeys willing to buy a kind and deserving sort of guy some air time. What am I to do? Seems like the guys on the forum would offer a little verbal support at least. Rooting for the home team and such.
Galen 0 #35 November 12, 2002 I agree HT. It's a simple logic statement. Premise 1: He skydives Premise 2: He skydives _______________________ Conclusion: He's poor, buy your own (or him) a jump ticket. Respect the Dolphin
happythoughts 0 #36 November 12, 2002 Exactly, the obvious logic. Especially if they are a non-jumper. Non-jumpers have nothing of value to spend their money on. What better way for a non-jumping g/f to spend her money than to buy her b/f some tickets? Nick-nacks can wait to a better time. Priorities.

Michele 1 #41 November 12, 2002 Back to the serious side of the conversation.... I am on a tight budget, but if I ask for a special thing, I make sure I do the manifest and have all the tix taken out of my account. When someone offered to jump with me because I was new and he was really experienced, and then a camera guy came along, I made sure all of those came from my account. I have sent small tokens of appreciation to several people on these boards for helping me with something, or just because they've done something which was definitely needed and appreciated. A j/t is an easy way to say thanks, and to know you've put a smile on someone's face the same way they did for you. I have also been the recipient of the same gracious gesture, and it really does make a person grin... As for being in a relationship and who buys the j/t, I dunno. I'll tell you, though, I don't expect it, nor do I want it. If I can't afford to jump, I don't show up at the DZ. Stacy 0 #42 November 12, 2002 I would never expect someone to pay for my jumps (as in a SO). I'm a total jump whore and that would just drive someone out of house, home, and even ramen to pay for my jumps. I do like suprising people with a jump tic here or there for no apparent reason. it's nice to see an unexpected smile sometimes.
dove 0 #43 November 12, 2002 God - you guys are so giving! I wish I could afford to surprise others with a jump ticket. Until then, any SO of mine will have to accept surprise BJs as a token of my love and appreciation. Fall in dove.
