ernokaikkonen 0 #276 October 23, 2002 Morning. I'd say good morning, but my personal morning at the moment is a bit woozy and tired.I had this great idea to hit the bars last night with a couple of my buddies... Don't you just love being at work and hung over?
MarkF 0 #277 October 23, 2002 Quote It sucks doesnt it? All of north Victoria needs rain badly, and down here in southern vic we have had nothing but shitty weather here for ages! We've had a lot of rain days but stuff all actual rain. About a third the average I hear. Must have a look at www.bom.gov.au there's some rainfall maps there. Thompsons dam is still only at around 54% capacity and Silvan is bloody near empty... What we really need is a solid Vic / NSW / SE Qld / SA downpour for about 3 weeks... Ooroo Mark F... quatorze 1 #281 October 23, 2002 Quote Why on earth do you want to avoid the funnel? The rules of WOP are simple.......you learn them as you goActually it is easy. A minimum of five people stand in a circle and kick a soccer ball around. The ball may bounce once and may only be played once. If you make a mistake you take a letter, starting with W. Once you get to WOP you step out and remember if you were first out or second or third etc etc. When everybody is out the first person places himself up against the hanger door as a target. The second places the ball, kicks it as hard as he/she can and tries to hit said target. If you score you get to stand down. If you miss you join the line by the hanger door. It is a lot of fun and takes a certain amount of insanity.BTW Were you at nationals this year? we play teh same game, with slightly different rules, the word to spell is BUTTS UP, and once you have reached the required letters you must bend over with your rear facing out and that is the target of punishment. Scratch 0 #283 October 23, 2002 Yup, head down and butts up it the proper way. When I have had a few I tend to just lean up against the hanger door facing out and drink my beer in between taunting the kickers. I have not been hit yet.....not for want of them trying

ernokaikkonen 0 #292 October 23, 2002 I should be getting the digital camera I ordered sometime this week. I'll have to post a pic of the view out of my window. It even looks cold. Or maybe I should wait until the next time we get sleet horizontally. So that it looks cold and wet. Have mentioned lately how I don't like the place this country ended up? I mean I mostly like my country, it's just in the wrong geographical place... When my plans for world domination get fulfilled, I'll tip the earth's axis so that Finland ends up nearer the equator... bluefingers 0 #297 October 23, 2002 The mind boggles ... Man's bite adds to severity of mamba venom By Graeme Hosken and Lee Rondganger Terrified after he was bitten by a green mamba in KwaMakhutha, a 44-year-old man bit off a chunk of his hand in a desperate attempt to stop the poison from spreading. But instead the poison spread to his mouth and stomach and he was fighting for his life in the intensive care unit at Durban's Addington Hospital. The man, who cannot be identified until his next-of-kin have been told of his plight, was walking through a dense bush when he was bitten on the hand. He continued to walk for more than three kilometres to the KwaMakhutha Clinic to seek help before being airlifted by paramedics from the Specialised Trauma Air Rescue Unit to Addington Hospital. When paramedics arrived at the clinic, the victim was suffering from hallucinations, convulsions and showing all signs of having been poisoned. Green mamba venom is a neuro-toxin which attacks the nervous system and can be lethal. The poison paralyses a victim from the feet up, shutting off the internal organs as it moves through the body. Star's lead flight paramedic David Doull said the man was in a serious, but stable condition and that he was extremely lucky to be alive. "By trying to suck the poison out of his wound he further endangered his life," Doull said. "The poison was transferred on to his lips and mouth thus moving closer to his brain and heart." He said a person should never try to suck the venom from a wound as this was an old wive's tale and victims placed themselves in even greater danger. Durban snake expert Craig Smith warned people to be on the lookout as the onset of summer heralded an increase in the reptile's activity. People with gardens, Smith said, should keep them tidy and that all left over food be either stored or removed completely from the property. "The food attracts rats and mice which attract snakes," he said. "Should anyone come into contact with a snake, immediately phone a snake park or zoo which will send someone to catch the snake. The best thing to do is to try and describe the snake by its length, width and colour," he said. He added that if a person was bitten by a snake they should be rushed to the nearest hospital. "A common mistake," he said "is that they try to catch the snake which has bitten the person in order to show the doctor what snake it was."
