>NO FRIKKIN WATER at home this morning

That's nothing. They were fixing the plumbing in the building my last apartment was in. For the last two weeks I lived there I didn't get water. At all. Which meant that I couldn't use the toilet either.

They did setup a temporary toilet in the basement of the building for the people to use, but it really did suck nevertheless. I had to take my showers at work. All the water I wanted to use for drinking, cooking or brushing my teeth I had to buy in bottles.

Morning NacMac,

Yeah, maybe the "Big Man" has a sense of humour, but I respectfully submit that he took it too far this morning :|.

In addition to being sticky and dirty today, I also managed to hit the puddle caused by the burst pipe when I left the drive this morning. And my car had just hat it's yearly wash on Sunday.

Even my very patient Russian wife had some things to say about the Somerset West municipality this morning. But enough griping - there's a few showers here at work, let me go avail myself of them ;)!

Well after lving in Port edland for a time, minus 15 would bloody near kill the entire population.

Minus 15 is a bit over the top. Or a bit under , depending yoyr point of view. At least in Hedland if there's a westerly blowing it's coming across the water. I lived up near Tibooburra (cnr. NSW, Qld, SA) for a while. 45C days were the norm in summer with maybe 25 to 30C night minimums. It doesn't matter which way the wind blows. It's always a hot wind...Winter's a lot different. Maybe mid 20's during the day and on a clear night it'd go down to about -5C or so. Any wind is always cold. Not as cold as Finland though. That sounds downright chilly.
