skreamer 1 #1 November 6, 2002 I'd just like to give some credit where it is due : My older sister had been visiting my younger sister in California. This was her first time out of South Africa, she took my two nieces (aged 3 and 5 along). Anyway, she was at the airport in San Francisco yesterday to start the journey home, when she got robbed (purse snatched). This was a bit unnerving for her, luckily the passports and tickets weren't stolen as well. Then her flight got held up a bit because the police were questioning her. She was in quite a condition when she did eventually get on the plane and was balling her eyes out. One of the cabin attendants found out what had happened and then took a collection round the plane (which my sister knew nothing about). The amount raised was almost as much as had been stolen (cards were already canceled). The cabin attendant also radioed ahead to make sure that there was somebody to help my sister during their stopover at Heathrow (she even organized for my sister and nieces to have access to the first class lounge at Heathrow). I will be writing American Airlines to express my gratitude (as will most of my family) and commend the cabin attendant for her thoughtfulness and caring. I can't thank all the American people on that flight who gave of their money (which my sister would never have asked for) - but I am grateful to them as well. My sister had been saving all she could for this holiday for the last 18 months, thanks to all those people who helped her, she will still only have good memories of the USA. Will PS my nieces preferred California to London, but how the hell was I going to match Disneyland???

skreamer 1 #10 November 6, 2002 Quote but the one in cali, is she single???? is she okay with skydivers???? Well, they have mostly cured the leprosy, but fortunately that hasn't stopped her from spending quality time with her lesbian Hell's Angel partner or her extensive gun collection. Apart from that (and the multiple personalites thing) she's a really nice girl though, want her number?
billvon 3,067 #11 November 6, 2002 Good story. I've always liked American Airlines; they seem a cut above most other airlines.
Guest #12 November 6, 2002 I wish it hadn't happened, and I'm glad that good things happened as a result, but it strikes me as odd that some folks coming from South Africa weren't particularly streetwise. Maybe they felt so much safer here that they let down their guard."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."

mouth 0 #15 November 7, 2002 I'm so glad everything worked out good in the end. I worked for American for 2 years and they have got to be the best company I have ever worked for. The flight attendants I worked with always had a heart of gold and were willing to help when they were needed. I know they will sleep good at night knowing your sister was helped in such a touching manner. . -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit.
