freeflir29 0 #26 November 1, 2002 I'm working on it. I just need to finish school and get ONE other thing on my resume. The one other thing will also give me a retirement check in about ten years. While I'm working the other job I plan on starting my own business on the side. Small at first but getting larger and more diversified as I get closer to retirement. That way I don't have to work for the government forever. Just ten years and then I can be quite well off financially and totally free to do whatever I want at about age 41. Not bad I think..... jfields 0 #27 November 1, 2002 Quote ONE other thing on my resume I don't think "Self Employed Sheep Gigolo" will make you independently wealthy. On the other hand, when you like your job so much, why retire?
SatchFan 0 #28 November 1, 2002 I always thought that starting your own biz would require a unique idea or skill. You guys make it sound easy. I'm going to have to look into it.

However, some jobs do need limited numbers. I understand "Sheep gigolo" may be maxed out.

Galen 0 #31 November 1, 2002 I've got a degree in Mechanical Engineering, I've worked in desgin, estimating, and currently manufacturing and have management experience. You would think I could find a way to be self-employed. Light bulb just hasn't gone off yet.
reprobate 0 #32 November 2, 2002 The best thing about being self employed is complaining to the boss My daughter once saw me looking in a mirrow, "Listen here, ASSHOLE I WANT A RAISE! FUCK YOU, YOU'R FIRED, You can't fire me, I'm me" Carl
narcimund 0 #33 November 2, 2002 Quote The best thing about being self employed is complaining to the boss I love using the boss as an explanation for everything. "I can't go to dinner with you. The boss is making me work late." And my favorite: "The boss said I could take the afternoon off for skydiving." First Class Citizen Twice Over
