slotperfect 7 #51 October 28, 2002 1) Still married, same awesome woman, 15 years 2) I was already "jumping" when I got married, but only military static-line. I didn't start "skydiving" until after we were married about 2 years. She started many years ago and made 52 jumps. She stopped after our first child was born.Arrive Safely John

jfields 0 #53 October 28, 2002 Well, while I'm in this thread I might as well put my stats in the mix. I've been married for 3 1/2 years so far, with a 6-month old daughter. I was a paratrooper before I met her, but didn't take up civilian skydiving until afterwards. I don't know if it is true or not, but it seems like the divorce rate is way higher among skydivers than whuffos.
SkyDolphin 0 #54 October 28, 2002 Pammi, I've been married for 12 years (almost -- December 8th) and my husband and I are still completely infatuated with each other. We get teased a lot too about being icky gooey and we have told "you'll get over it" so many times it's not funny. But like you, our marriage keeps getting better. Don't you know you are supposed to keep marriage in the family!!! Seriously, sorry to hear it. I guess it's BOOGIE TIME!!!!
Skitzo 0 #56 October 28, 2002 I'm 32 & divorced, started jumping well after, but am now coming out of a 1year 9mo relationship that ended a couple of weeks ago. Good in some ways and sucks in others.Best thing for it is just to get all wrapped up in the sky. "How do you keep your feet on the ground when you know you were born to fly?" blondeflyer7 0 #58 October 28, 2002 Divorced and proud of it as for if it was before or after....it was during the divorce, which was a good thing it helped boost my self-esteem so much. Being put down by someone for a couple of years sucks and to be able to accomplish what I have even what I'm going through, its well worth it.

Pammi 0 #60 October 28, 2002 Good to know Rhonda! I certainly know that it's way different this time then the last. I think the first sign shoulda been my drinking a bottle of wine before the ceremony to get the nerve to go through with getting married. Um duh, get a clue eh?! LOL! Or perhaps that he was the type of person who won't even play laser tag because he might sweat. Puhleez! Pam
Sassy 0 #61 October 28, 2002 In the process of getting a divorce. The marriage was in really bad shape when I did my first jump 71 short days ago. I was looking for something for myself, something to make me feel alive again in the hopes that the marriage could be revived and survive. But it's all for the best. I could no longer live with a dead robot who would do nothing but cut me down all the time. I guess it made him feel like a big man. He has his precious money BUT I have friends and family and will soon have skydiving on a regular basis. Who do you think is happier??? Sassy

ChileRelleno 0 #66 October 28, 2002 Six years of marriage and still think she's sexy, Hmmm I wonder if I'll get itchy next year "NOT!" I was skydiving when we met and at first it was like " Cool,he skydives" then it got serious and it changed to "What if you die?"... well I was in love so I got some advice and went back to her and told her " I may quit cause I love you but it'll tear us apart later, you met a skydiver, fell in love with a skydiver and now you want to marry a skydiver. Well its over right here right now, you need to make up your mind?" and about a week later she comes back and says "OK". Since then its been you made your bed sleep in it and six years later she knows that skydiving is my passion but she is my love... jceman 1 #69 October 29, 2002 We have been married for 34 years with a small glitch in there (but that's not really important). We both started skydiving in 1995. We're jsut boring I guess. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
