In fact I am a meteorologist contracted by the DOD, and much of what I do is to help those people in our military, including your son, know what type of weather is in their area, which over the past several years has include : the middle east, both eastern and western europe, part of the Pacific SW, and Japan. Fortunately, Ridgeway was assigned as MacArthur's replacement, and he made tremendous strides given a potentially devastating situation, especially in terms of logistics and morale with a largely confused, fragmented force. He turned the tide relatively quickly, pushing the communist forces back to the 38th, reclaiming the ground that was the South.
