cloud9 0 #1 October 28, 2002 I have read many post now where a person is asking for information of a paticular nature and someone replys "well I've never done that or I have no experience with that but" Why in the world do yo do that? I just can't imagine. If you don't know then don't anwser, stay out of it! In the talk back forum no big deal; but why in the serious forums would someone do that? I'm totally baffaled. So for the one's on record doing exactly that: WHY?

fool 0 #3 October 28, 2002 Well, if it's something that you've heard discussion about from people who's opinion you respect, then why not pass on the information given to you. The disclaimer about I've never done it, and don't have experience with it, is so people who DO have the experience can either argue, or agree with it. If people didn't post it, and just carried on thinking that what they've heard is right, and don't get the feedback from some of the people here, it could be a very bad thing. It's another tool you can use to either solidify, or correct the information you have, so why not use it. cloud9 0 #4 October 28, 2002 I guess the point is I would really like to hear from the one's that do it and get an understanding of why! I mean it's not like a search of the post won't show it! Remember the comercial? I've never rebuilt a Transs misssion but I've seen it done once
diver123 0 #5 October 28, 2002 I suppose cause then you open things up for misinterpretation and inaccurate representations of said information (that was heard and is being passed on)... Ever played the "telephone" game where a group of people sit in a circle and one person says something to the person on the right. Then that person is supposed to repeat what they heard to the person to their right, and so on and so forth until they complete the circle... The info is so messed up when it comes back around that it's very difficult, if not impossible, to depict what the original message was... This is especially important when that information could potenitally risk someone's life if it's wrong... Just seems like more trouble than it's worth... "pull high! It's lower than you think..." One of the reasons I sometimes post even when I don't know the answer for sure, is to bump the thread up and show the one's with the real info that others want to know it also.
