jtval 0 #1 October 26, 2002 for all of you health conscious ppl out there... how do you keep your selves form getting bored in your workouts? switching routines is the obvious answer but what kind of stuff do you do and how do you get yourselves to the gym? I use EAS.COM treaining zone as a guide line because I hate going to the gym(but afterwards I love the feeling) cardio-- I do my own stuff; well used to. I have been having trouble getting my sleepy ass to the gym. my work schedule Is NOT conducive to a normal life. any way I was curious about gathering ideas for new work outs etc! blues!!My photos My Videos
trilete312 0 #2 October 26, 2002 2 words for you. Training Partner. Working out alone can drive you crazy. You need a training partner that will kick your ass on those days where you feel like loafing. You need someone to talk to during the long runs. You need someone who can help get ya motivated. I know that if I don't get up and get to the gym that I won't hear the end of it.----------- Ready, Set, Gooooooo
jtval 0 #3 October 26, 2002 yea I tried to that too. but my schedule REALLY sucks. I dont even know anybody except the 6 ppl I work with my hours are 1000pm -7 am(at 7am is the best time for me to hit the gym but I have ZERO energy at that time) now those are just excuses but until I am adjusted to the time zone AND my work schedule I am at the mercy of my exhaustionMy photos My Videos
AggieDave 6 #4 October 26, 2002 Training partners annoy the shit out of me half the time, usually because I haven't been able to find one that's hard core. They always seem to either weasle out of a workout or they dont' want to be as intense in a work out as I am. I don't tend to get bored in my workouts, but then again I love this stuff and get pretty intense doing it. I like punishing my body, trying to get one rep more then last time or put 10lbs more weight on then last time. That and I have some sort of good workout music in my MP3 player playing very very loud. If I'm having a really bad day and I just can't seem to get motivated to go lift, a quick mix of Ultimate Orange, then 15 minutes later I'm ready to go. Ready to lift, wanting to bite into that 45lbs plate and chew off a chunk. That stuff really gets you going. Although its really not healthy to use all the time, just nice every once in a while.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." diver123 0 #5 October 26, 2002 If you can't keep a partner, then the next best thing is music! Find that two or three songs that just does something to you on the inside and burn them to a CD. Then play it when you're trying to get yourself in the mood. You're in (or were in the military) right? Tell yourself you'd like to be in the kind of shape it would take to be successful in the MARINE CORPS! ooh-rah! "pull high! It's lower than you think..."
