SkydiveMonkey 0 #2 October 23, 2002 There is none. Not supposed to jump in clouds, but haze is ok ____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
quade 4 #3 October 23, 2002 A cloud is visible moisture supended in the air. If you can see it, it's a cloud. Industrial haze, is something you lie about. REAL haze, when you're not lieing about the industrial variety, is also a form of cloud. The U.S. goverment says you need to have a certain amount of clearance from clouds and a certain amount of visibility though the air (lack of haze) in order for your jumps to be legal.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

pilotdave 0 #9 October 24, 2002 ...and just in case the FAA is reading, ummm, yeah, they're all kidding. We don't ever jump through clouds or haze. All skydivers stay 1000 feet above, 500 feet below, and 2000 feet horizontally from clouds at all times. It would be irresponsible to do otherwise. Anyway, everybody knows skydivers breathe through their skin so we'd suffocate if we jumped in clouds. Dave
