SkymonkeyONE 4 #3 October 21, 2002 Remember, it's "Rook" with double "0's" as in "spoon", NOT like in "took". He is a great guy. Chuck

freeflir29 0 #10 October 21, 2002 Quote If I scrap the cash together I might come out again It would be well worth your time. The party is usually OFF THE HOOK!!!!!!!! We put up some stage rigging for lighting in the hangar. Have a DJ or two to spin some records. Party smoke machines...some random nakedness, nig noggery, and debauchery!!! We'll be doing Halloween a few days late too. It should be a great hang over producer.
mouth 0 #11 October 21, 2002 That's funny...I've never had a hangover from one of the festivals. Oh, I know why cause I haven't really slept long enough to realize if I was hung over or just still drunk.Lisa -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit. Should have a Casa, hot air balloon, Otter, and maybe some other stuff. I hear rumors of things but I think that is all that is confirmed. (Don't want to "Kirlin" ya.....) Check here for more updates and details or just give Trey a call at 1-800-276-DIVE. Looks like $16 jumps on Friday and $18 on Saturday!!! http://www.skydiveatlanta.com/events_main.php

jessefs 0 #17 October 22, 2002 Being so new and never having been to a boogie, is it normal to see the Nelsons or whoever there and be able to jump with them or does that never happen? Do different levels usually keep to their own? J <* Spread the Love! *>
freeflir29 0 #18 October 22, 2002 Quote is it normal to see the Nelsons or whoever there and be able to jump with them or does that never happen? They usually make rounds during the boogie season. I know my DZO did a bunch of jumps with Rook at last years Summer Fest. Trey is really good on his head. I'm not sure how well he knows Rook but all it usually takes is a phone call, airline ticket, and free jumps. I mean....if your a kick ass skydiver people will pay your way to come organize at a boogie. One day if I get to that level I think it will be hard to turn down a totally FREE boogie. Quote Do different levels usually keep to their own? Not at all!!! When people like Rook and Monkey Claw, as is the case here, come to a boogie it's to do organizing/coaching. They are there to jump with people of ALL levels. It helps everyone have more fun and no matter who you are you WILL learn a lot. I know I always do. I tend to worry that I look good because they are flying around me.
jessefs 0 #19 October 22, 2002 Thanks dude, I can't wait till I can start going to these things!
mouth 0 #20 October 22, 2002 I've been to several boogies where Ponce was organizing but he only jumps with those who are really good which I know I am not. None of those that are my level even attempt to get on one of his loads. That's ok though cause we can usually find something fun to do without much help. I really enjoyed jumping with Jerry Bird at Monroe a few weeks back. He is the bomb and really makes you feel good about yourself. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit.
freeflir29 0 #21 October 22, 2002 Quote he only jumps with those who are really good I have heard that from a lot of people. I guess I'll get to see it for myself. That's the only way I'll believe it. I know I jumped with Joe Trinko on a low timer 8 or 9 way when I had 20 something jumps at Raeford. He gave me some great tips. I actually got in!!!! People around Raeford are lucky though. They have an ABUNDANCE of talent around that DZ with VERY LITTLE in the way of attitude or people trying to make money. Most DZ's don't have access to that kind of talent much less the giving free attitudes.
Stacy 0 #22 October 22, 2002 I've found in jumping with Roger at Cross Keys and conventions that he will ask you a lot of questions if he doesn't know you. Some of his jumps are really challenging and involve blind moves and hard piece maneuvers that can get pretty hairy with 20+ people. In my experience he will give most people a shot at being on a jump but if anyone raises a red flag to him in the video he's quick to drop the axe. Moral of the story= don't make a notable appearance in the video.
mouth 0 #23 October 22, 2002 Seems to me you are never going to learn if you don't try. By trying you very well may get picked out in the video but you could also learn something. Heck these aren't world record jumps this is just for fun. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit.
