To BEER or not to BEER?

If you have to pop a reserve, a bottle would go to the rigger. What if the rigger is the same person who packed your main? Or would this all depend on the type of MA (example: If due to a mistake in packing and inspection or just a freak MAL) ?

Then would it be good karma for the rigger to buy you BEER if he did happen to make a mistake packing your main ?

My first reserve ride was due to lazy, cheap ineptitude on the part of the rigger who also owned the gear and the DZ. I was a static line student making a 10 second delay using student gear. The rigger/DZO thought rubber bands were just as good as elastic or at least less expensive. I rode a round reserve into trees because of that.

I did NOT buy him anything.

Later on he ended up in prison for airplane theft. I don't think my karma was the one damaged by this event.
