RevJim 0 #27 October 17, 2002 Quote I'm gonna' shoot for 750, in the next year... Hopefully not ALL tandems. Yea, those will just be your fun jumps, right brother? Add a 1 in front of that number and you'll have your yearly total! It's your life, live it! Cajones 0 #28 October 17, 2002 I did a lot more this past year, but I'd like to slow it down to a nice even 750... 500 Freefly, 50 RW, 50 Birdman, 50 Skysurf, 50 AFF, and 50 Tandems. The laws of physics are strictly enforced.
Skyrose7 0 #29 October 17, 2002 I thought I was doing good with 160 something for my first full season--since april. Jumpin done soon here, but eloy should help!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The mind is like a parachute--it works better when it is open. JUMP. MaryRose
riddler 0 #30 October 17, 2002 Good luck! You won't get that many in at Longmont. It's cold in January! Brrrr. Very few plane trips. Sometimes they shut down for a weekend.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
canopywhore 0 #31 October 17, 2002 My first year I made 318 jumps. My second year I made 209, I had a girlfriend that didn't jump. So far this year 36. This year my girlfriend got her license and I planned on doing 300 again. Unfortunately I didn't plan on breaking my femur. I haven't jumped since july 13 and it's driving me crazy. I payed for all my jumps so far.

Stacy 0 #34 October 17, 2002 I'll have about 200 this calendar year. My first year in teh sport i did about 250-300 ish. I lost some time this year living up north in the winter then moving to FL in the "off season." now things are picking up and shortly i'll be passing another "00" jump. if it's in Eloy I want to funnel airspeed, in true Hellfish Style... GroundZero 0 #35 October 17, 2002 Phree, I think you're exactly right... the working stiffs usually get more jumps per year compared to the recreational weekenders. I like the jumps/day ratio... in 18 years, I've averaged .80 jumps per day. Guess it would have been higher if I never learned to fly an airplane (or drive the bus, as I prefer to call it...) scottbre 0 #36 October 17, 2002 Quote What I'd be interested in is seeing how many people end up paying for their 500+ jump years or if they get the slots through student jumps and tandem video slots. The weekend instructors seem to have much higher jump years then most weekend jumpers around here. Sept. 29th was my first skybirthday, and I ended up having 212 jumps for my first year. And I had to pay for every single one. Geez this is an expensive sport. "Your mother's full of stupidjuice!" My Art Project
freeflir29 0 #37 October 17, 2002 I have gotten 2 free jumps this year. JTVal bought me one because he is a great guy and I did one coach course prep jump. I have done a couple other coach jumps but did those for free because I owed them for some reason or another.
GroundZero 0 #38 October 17, 2002 the bad part is that, while I've averaged .80 jumps per day... during the same time I've averaged 1.15 flight hours per day... (Damn this "bus-driving"!) It ain't fair... Chris
CanuckInUSA 0 #39 October 17, 2002 Is it the same out at Brush? (ie: we know it can be a little chilly, but are there few loads and do they shut down during the winter months, even if the skies are pretty clear). Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
brianthomas1966 0 #40 October 17, 2002 I'm with you there. Our DZ only runs 1 plane @ a time (C-205 or C-172) with Tandems and First Jump Course IAD students. I had 80 jumps on my 1 year anniversary of jumping. Went to the convention and got 15 in there, so that helped out. That's a good average for a small DZ, weekend only jumper.
