Muenkel 0 #56 October 15, 2002 In 7th grade I had the rare distinction of being the spelling AND math bee champ at the same time in my school. This fete was never accomplished before and has never been accomplished since!!! Ok, that was dork famous...now cool famous: I was mentioned on page 6 of the book "The Amazing Mets". The only bummer is, the book is out of print and I have been searching the net for it under sports memorabilia. If anyone has any clues where to search for it, I would appreciate it. And I almost forgot, as a child I had the huge honor of having a catch with Tom Seaver, the Hall of Fame pitcher. _________________________________________ Chris

kallend 2,027 #58 October 15, 2002 Quote I met Richard Branson and Steve Fossett (both gazillionaires) 10 miles off the coast of Oahu and they said they were really glad to see me. CNN covered it. Well, I met Jane Fonda and Ted Turner, and I went to school with Bill Wyman (original bassist of the Rolling Stones), but none of them said they were glad to meet me.I also met 9 Nobel prizewinners over the years; none of them were glad to meet me either. And I also met Otto Frisch and Edward Teller, neither of whom were glad to meet me. (Anyone know what these guys did?)
Muenkel 0 #59 October 15, 2002 Quote Hehe! That FEAT has never been accomplished before eh. Mr. Spelling Wiz?! I didn't say I was STILL a champ. I have left brain cells all over this beautiful country, not to mention Europe. But I do believe I did spell "fete" correctly. Actually, it looks right, but I am too lazy to check the dictionary. _________________________________________ Chris
