Beaver boogie!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

The Beaver Boogie (no, I don't know why it's called that ;)) is due this year 25-27 Oct. in Bjorli in Norway.
Helicopter jumps by the famous Troll Wall, Gothenburg is bringing their Skyvan, and lots of general partying i presume.
I don't have anymore details than that, but who cares, I'm going anyway.

Anyone interested in joining me on the way up there are all welcome to contact me, guess there arent THAT many scandinavians here in these yank infested forums ;), but it's worth a shot. I'm leaving from Ørebro sometime before everythings kick off.

Hope to see you there by the WALL :P

Cuz i always say it at the the dz when the gods dont smile at us :P

A government job of course...

>but, they're fun in a rickyspringer kinda way

>Och så chansar på att du kan svenska?

Ja, jag kan prata liten svenska också.

>And does this mean what i have been taught?
>"satani rippola ilma!"

Hmmm. Ummm. Not in finnish... "ilma" means "air" or "weather", and the rest of it sounds like somehow twisted finnish... but twisted enough to lose the meaning. But if you say it convincingly enough, I'm sure the Finnish weather gods catch the meaning...;):P

>cant belive that no one wanna join me at the "beaver boogie"

The idea is really quite tempting, but I'm still paying off debt from my new gear... Do you really get jumpable weather at this time of year, or is the boogie just a good excuse for a beerfest?

I actually just made a graph showing the geographical distribution of DZcommers.

69% North American...Arcane Symbolism or Just Dumb Luck. You be the judge.

Back in the 70's, I actually jumped at the Beaver Valley Dropzone in western PA. They told me that in the future when we talked about bad dropzones, I would bring that one up. I don't think it is still open.

Good luck at the Boogie. Isn't it going to be a little cold up there at that time of the year? And what time will sunset be? Might want to buy extra beer.

The Beaver Boogie - Adding new meaning to "Get In or Go In".
Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.

Hmmm....the "satani rippola ilma" is supposed, do I dare to say it", mean "bloody diarrhea weather"....or so I was told....well, you always get stitched up when you try to learn new frases in different languages.

Yeah, the "beaver boogie" might be clouded/rained away, but beer is always a reason to travel anywhere...and too cold...for jumping...nar, never.
Anyway, real reason for going is that some freinds of mine did that Troll wall jump last year..it just looks amazing when you see them them track beside it, and the damn thing is so huge that it looks like it hardly moves...think it is 2000m high, around 1000 of that is just sheer wall...wonder if its the biggest wall in the world...and it's not yank, LOL....well, just gotta do that, just gotta...

och BLUEFINGERS verkar vara trevlig, hoppas hon ser det hær, kommer antagligen bli vældigt smickrad...

LOL:D, now I get it, it was just misspelled.. The proper spelling would be "Saatanan ripuli ilma", and it would be pronounced about "SAAh-tun-un RIP-ool-lee EEL-ma";)

>Yeah, the "beaver boogie" might be clouded/rained away, but beer

I'm a Finn! Of course it's never too cold to jump! It's just that we get a lot of clouds and high winds here at this time of year, is it better on the other side of the mountains?

>Anyway, real reason for going is that some freinds of mine did that
>Troll wall jump last year..

You can jump Trollveggen again? I thought it was forbidden years ago?

>it just looks amazing when you see them
>them track beside it, and the damn thing is so huge that it looks
>like it hardly moves...

Well, the mountains do have a tendency to stay where they are... not sure what you meant by that?

:DGotta love 'em translate-a-matics...

Swedish it was, I was thrown off a bit by the funny letters, but I guess they don't have propes Ä's in Norway...:P The Norwegian tranlation is hilarious in it's crazyness...

"och BLUEFINGERS verkar vara trevlig, hoppas hon ser det hær, kommer antagligen bli vældigt smickrad..."

"and BLUEFINGERS seems nice, I hope she sees this, she'll probably be enormously flattered."

...and to be honest:$ I had to use a dictionary myself, and translate it first to Finnnish and then English...

The translator's version is funny:

>creation vara woodwork , bound hon discern facts army , comes
>antagligen become vældigt smickrad.

:DBut the one you made all by yourself is absolutely hilarious:

>interacts product jolly/nice. Hope she is seeing army is coming,
>presumably be (something?) flatter...

Yeah, the jolly norwegian army was coming to flatten you, hope you saw it...
:D

In case anyone is curious:

http://www.lesjafsk.no/bever.htm

Saw the ad and link for the boogie in Frittfall magazine. Great cover photo! If you have the magazine didja notice the guy trying to get to the formation and the little sonar symbols around his legs and arms? And the guy in the formation with an arrow pointing to him and "freeflyer" written there. hehehe...

I can't read any of the articles, but the photos and graphics are great! Always nice to see this one show up on my desk....

I'm going crazy and it's only Tuesday! Whoohoo!

blue skies (it's pouring here!),
