FlyinBrian87 0 #1 June 24, 2007 Just wondering is anyone knows any good "Text Book" skydiving books. I need technical organized information about LEARNING to skydive. Im ready for my level 4 now and im the type of person who NEEDS to know as much as i possibly can at that given time. And i know...once i Stop learning, ill throw the towel in on skydiving. Books iv purchassed are JUMP and Parachute and its pilot.Dont cry because its over...Smile because it happened!
PhreeZone 20 #2 June 24, 2007 The SIM is a good reference also. Its at the USPA's website for free as a PDF file. Shy of a few other books that are mainly photos there really are not that many skydiving books on the market. The vast majority of things to be learned involving skydiving are not going to be found in a book or on a computer screen.. the only way to learn it is to going out and do it. There are some good videos out there like the SkydiveU series and a few of them even have workbooks to use with the videos so look at those also.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
denete 3 #3 June 24, 2007 Try Transcending Fear: Conquering the Enemy Within (Brian Germain). I read the Skydiver's Handbook (Dan Poynter) and it made a good companion to the SIM. Be sure you get the latest edition (10th I think). - DavidSCR #14809 "our attitude is the thing most capable of keeping us safe" (look, grab, look, grab, peel, punch, punch, arch)
