Skydive New Mexico Otter boogie!

Recommended Posts

Well no jell-o shots, I have to work a double today and won't get home till 10 tonight. :( If Derek hadn't scheduled himself at one of the DZs on the way I could have made them tonight and by noon tomorrow they would be done, but since we are leaving at 6am it is definately a no go.

Are you guys jumping on Friday? We may be there by 5 and able to sneak 1 or 2 in.

I sit here at work (getting really frustrated with the Whuffo boss who only cares about work and nothing else) and waiting for my day to end, so that I can jump in my packed car and drive the 6 or so hours down to the Skydive NM boogie. Outside of being a little tired right now, I'm really looking forward to this boogie. :$

Well don't feel to bad the apple pucker never made it out of the car....*I forgot I had it*

Although I did have a great time....skydive NM is a totally homey DZ, now if some people could remember that a hop-n-pop means jump and pull I'd have a few less heart attacks. :P

Yeah the Eloy crew returned with some stories ...

My momma's so fat, they couldn't get the otter seatbelt around her. Wait, is this the 'rank out yo mama' thread? Anyway, true story. We had to tie the sealtbelt around her leg.
Had to leave Saturday afternoon. What is the word on the 22-way. Did they make it?
Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD

No, we didn't make it. We had made some switches and subs for Sunday, but the weather was crappy in the morning, and a lot of folks went home. Too bad they did, because it cleared around noon and we kept jumping.

Yes, there were some stupid safety issues, by people that are very experienced, and we're doing the best we can to take care of it.

This was the first boogie that I have planned (sheesh, who'd have thunk I'd be helping to run a DZ?) and even though the weather sucked on Sunday, I think most people still had a good time. Some people had a little TOO good a time, judging by the evidence left outside the hangar!

We'll do it again next year, probably a week or two earlier in the year, and we'll definitely have balloon jumps next time.

This weekend, to be exact! Actually, I stuck around on Sunday and made 4 more jumps in the cold...I recall saying to Spencer that I wasn't exactly sure why I was being such a jump whore, since I'd be in Eloy in a week!

See you Saturday!

Riddler...you won a T-shirt Saturday night in the raffle! (Plus you get a second free t-shirt ust for being there)

How can I get it to you? Send me a PM and we'll figure it out.

Andi
I had a great time meeting all of the Skydive NM people (and the other transient jumpers like myself) at your boogie. It's too bad that the weather was questionable on Sunday morning, but what can you do? Saturday was sweet. B|
