There is a hardcore group of Canadians who have been going there every January for years. Lots of Brits, who used to go to Phoenix (the dz, not the city), now go to LW because of friendships with Betty and the staff. Kind of miss the Royal Marines and their special dinner. Not many dz.commers know about it. Low key fun.
The local Fla crowd goes by when the CASAs are in town, which should be around Nov.1st. It is a nice facility, very clean. Huge landing options. Big hangar for covered packing. They let us toss our inflatables out. Plenty of room for them to land.

Since CSS is now a part owner/ operator of Lake Wales I'd bet the Casa's are more present there this winter. I know at least one of the pilots is going down December 10th or about there. And I heard FrankenOtter is going to be there this winter too.

I showed up the day after X-mas or about and at least one of the planes never shut down all day as long as I was there, and I stayed till New Years Eve. The one day with the rain we still were turning 182 loads there. The Caravan was flying a lot of loads too.
