nws01 0 #3 October 11, 2002 I was at Lake Wales (It is a fine DZ) last X-Mas and there was not enough people there there to get the plane up until a group of 8 of us showed up. Fine DZ but Eloy is where it will be!
happythoughts 0 #4 October 11, 2002 There is a hardcore group of Canadians who have been going there every January for years. Lots of Brits, who used to go to Phoenix (the dz, not the city), now go to LW because of friendships with Betty and the staff. Kind of miss the Royal Marines and their special dinner. Not many dz.commers know about it. Low key fun. The local Fla crowd goes by when the CASAs are in town, which should be around Nov.1st. It is a nice facility, very clean. Huge landing options. Big hangar for covered packing. They let us toss our inflatables out. Plenty of room for them to land.

PhreeZone 20 #6 October 11, 2002 Since CSS is now a part owner/ operator of Lake Wales I'd bet the Casa's are more present there this winter. I know at least one of the pilots is going down December 10th or about there. And I heard FrankenOtter is going to be there this winter too.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
nws01 0 #7 October 11, 2002 Phree, There was the CASA and the Frankenotter there last X-Mas. But, no people to jump.
PhreeZone 20 #8 October 11, 2002 I showed up the day after X-mas or about and at least one of the planes never shut down all day as long as I was there, and I stayed till New Years Eve. The one day with the rain we still were turning 182 loads there. The Caravan was flying a lot of loads too.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
bbarnhouse 0 #9 October 12, 2002 Many of us will be making the trk to Lake Wales for US Nationals next year. Eloy seemed like a good place for a DZ.Com gathering. Hope that you have a most excellent time in LW and wish that you were joing us here in Planet Eloy. Cheers! B^
PhreeZone 20 #10 October 12, 2002 Only reason I'm not going to Eloy is Lake Wales is my DZO's and half the DZ's winter home Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
