no wonder by boss had no complaints on giving me the day off! (i wanted the day off for finals made a 98) went to work after finals to get my pay check.
told i was laid off!! there shutting down the store.(all the stores in the state at that) only good thing is i might have a job at the school as a teachers assistant(4.0 avg helps!)

That sucks! I can relate though, we just recieved notice today that as of November 10th the contract is being pulled for the business I work for. Without the contract the business goes under.

Sorry to hear that man. I have people getting laid off all around me but I don't think I have anything to worry about. We only have about 2000 people in this entire division of Bellsouth (Smallest in the company) and last year we made 25% of the total profits. Through all the financial ups downs in the last year one person in this division has been laid off. That was some poor bastard that had gone from union to management about 30 days before.

Sorry to hear that. I do have to say at least you got told about yours. I got laid off about a month ago and only found out about it when my name was no longer on the schedule. I had known that 5 people were getting laid off, but it was a total shock to me. Lucky for me a good buddy of mine was the GM of another casino across town and gave me a job the next day.
