sunshine 2 #52 October 11, 2002 Sorry to hear that nathan. You should be a real sweetie and loan your gear to Chromeboy for the weekend so he can jump instead. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! bbarnhouse 0 #54 October 11, 2002 Hey Nate ya big baby!!! I have several ummm trophies(scars are dude magnets too) on my left knee......if I know I'm gonna have a hard landing I generally try to take it on that knee cuz it doesn't have any feeling on the left side of it anyway.Hope that you are in the skies again soon. Cheers!! B^
Skitzo 0 #55 October 11, 2002 If an Xray didn't show anything and its swollen that bad, I'm wondering why they didn't suggest getting an MRI. What kind of Doctor did you see? ER? DO? Ortho? Just curious. - "How do you keep your feet on the ground when you know you were born to fly?"
AggieDave 6 #56 October 11, 2002 Seriously, they probably should have done an MRI. Sorry to here that Nathan, sorry you got grounded, but its hard to land/fly/get in the plane with a knee injury (I know, I did it). Hopefully he gave you some good drugs, I'm glad mine did, it was fucking painful, but that gave me a week on the couch this summer where stuff was really hazy, which I hate...--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Muenkel 0 #57 October 11, 2002 They generally don't order an MRI unless totally necessary because the insurance companies bitch about the cost. Definitely do what the Dr. tells you. However, I will say it only one more time...Get yourself some Arnica oil and rub it into the injured area several times a day. Get well soon. _________________________________________ Chris
nws01 0 #58 October 11, 2002 I woke up at 4:30am this morning and it felt like HH was poking my knee with a hot fork! I called a taxi and went to the ER. As soon as the swelling goes down I go to the Orthopedist. They did not even mention a MRI. And yes, Dave, the drugs are good. They knock me out cold! AggieDave 6 #59 October 11, 2002 Yeah, ER docs did that to me too. Took X-rays, gave me drugs then told me to go to an ortho. Went to the best ortho in town (he works on the Aggie Football players), he told me I had a torn MCL and ACL damage, wouldn't need surgery, I had to get an expensive hinged knee brace to wear, BUT he told me I could keep jumping. I put a few on the next weekend, although I couldn't really kneel to pack... --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
