weid14 0 #1 September 30, 2002 So there I was looking up at my deploying canopy, crap, there's a grasshopper in there, I hope there's not a stain where I smushed the little bugger packing him in there. nope, don't see one, I wonder if it is just grass or something. on the ground, I'm shaking the canopy by teh tail to get what ever it was to the nose, finally see it. yup, it is a grasshopper, the crazy thing is, it is moving, I move the little guy out (no small feat as he was in a blocked off nose portion of my velocity). and set him free, he didn't pay me for the tandem, but that he's a tough little bugger to get packed in a container, make a skydive, go through opening then land. kind of cracked me up. Stacy 0 #4 September 30, 2002 write to PD and tell them that small velocities have now been tested and can be used safely for tandem skydiving. see what they say.

NtheSeaOrSky 0 #6 September 30, 2002 Well, we know the view we see.....can you imagine the trip through a bugs eye?!?!? Was the lil thing quivering and hugging the canopy fabric??Life is not fair and there are no guarantees...

weid14 0 #8 September 30, 2002 he didn't want to come out his new little nylon home that's for sure. I can understand why it takes so long to put a crossbraced canopy together now though after trying to figure out how to get at him (cross ports)... on another note, do grasshoppers have genders? Beachbum 0 #9 September 30, 2002 had that happen to me at Lost Prairie, but don't know it the little bugger was alive or not ... he went into freefall when I opened ... saw him dive past me ... Slappie 9 #13 September 30, 2002 Quote he went into freefall when I opened ... saw him dive past me ... Now that is interesting.. Do you think he lived thru it? I mean it doesn't weigh much. It's velocity towards the earth can't be that fast. Plus grasshoppers have wings too. I wonder if it was possible the litta-fella made it safely... Just a Monday musing..
