Jessica 0 #1 September 28, 2002 1) It's a beautiful day, 80ish degrees, clear skies, 5 mph winds, and you can't jump because you have to work, or you're injured, or whatever. 2) It's a horrible day, cloudy, or rainy, or windy as hell, and you're at the dz, rig in hand, raring to go. I tend to think the first is more painful, but perhaps that's just because it's the situation I'm in right now.Skydiving is for cool people only
hobbes4star 0 #2 September 28, 2002 the second cause the possibility of jumping is closer than if you weren't at the dzif fun were easy it wouldn't be worth having, right?
skybytch 273 #3 September 28, 2002 Today, #2. Spent three hours standing around at the dz hoping the clouds would go away before I finally gave up and came home. All of 2001 (excepting the one jump I wasn't supposed to make), it was #1. Being injured sucks. Either way. It sucks to not be jumping when you want to. dropdeded 0 #4 September 28, 2002 How bout # 3 Thinkin about goin out to the dz tommorow but because of injury I cant jump. dropdeded------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -
moodyskydiver 0 #5 September 28, 2002 Right now I think #1 is worse b/c you know atleast if it were scenario #2 no one else would be jumping either! Knowing all your friends are out jumping and you cant sucks!Atleast if its bad weather there are others to share your misery. "...just an earthbound misfit, I." Mad47 0 #6 September 28, 2002 1-st one ... I am in pain right now. Cannot even give a big hug to my Javelin or unpack/pack main :))) coz the rig is at DZ .. and I am not. Only fresh video makes me feel little bit better.
n2skdvn 0 #7 September 28, 2002 1st one went 5 monts without jumping drove me nuts.glad im back in the air now!if my calculations are correct SLINKY + ESCULATOR = EVERLASTING FUN my site
Snowbird 0 #8 September 28, 2002 QuoteAt least if its bad weather there are others to share your misery. It's bad karma, I know, but I was hoping for rain this weekend since I can't jump! Misery loves company, and all that. Instead, it's a beautiful day, and I keep hearing the jump plane going over. I'll choose option #1 as the worst, because at least with #2 I'm at the dz, hanging out, having fun. Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A. Heinlein
ChileRelleno 0 #9 September 28, 2002 (1) I'm currently on the injured list. With (2) atleast you can go out to the DZ and hangout, have some fun and perhaps learn something from others. NtheSeaOrSky 0 #10 September 28, 2002 I'm going to have to say 1 here. At least with 2, the weather changes quicker than bones heal.Life is not fair and there are no guarantees...
canopywhore 0 #11 September 29, 2002 #1 is the worst, in any other situation you might be able to jump if the weather or whatever else changes.
jtval 0 #12 September 29, 2002 Quote#1 is the worst, in any other situation you might be able to jump if the weather or whatever else changes. now we all know Ive had plenty of time with both situations...I say its a case of equa-suck!My photos My Videos
AggieDave 6 #13 September 29, 2002 Absofuckingly beautiful day, I really couldn't jump b/c I'm injured, but I had this new Wings and stuff, never been jumped, just put together, so I jumped it anyways. Well, even though the landing was very VERY soft, it hurt like a bitch, but atleast I got one jump in. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." jumpy 0 #17 September 29, 2002 Number 1 was me today ...the weather this morning wasn't looking all the good so then i come outside around lunchtime and its a beutyful day! I was very very annoyed especially since i was all packed to go to the dz yesterday and it was raining I think ones worse cos being at the dz in bad weather can still be fun..not as fun but still fun
cop 0 #18 September 29, 2002 Today; number 1; I was just heading to DZ when they called me from work. This sucks, dam... "You can call me Mike"
Magistr8 0 #19 September 29, 2002 I don't give work my cell phone number for that one reason alone. I just switched jobs and was very glad to find out that I had to give them all that info again. Good thing I can take to the skies in peace on the weekends again. I would have to say though that the worst would be not being able to jump because of bad weather. jtval 0 #20 September 29, 2002 YOU forgot # 3; beautiful day so you drive to the dz. you HAVE money...but not enough jumpers to load the plane! that shit makes me wanna cry, fortunately the occassional tandem walks in and I get a few jumps! My photos My Videos

Skitzo 0 #22 September 29, 2002 I'd have to say #1 is much worse. There's nothing worse than watching all your friends embrace the sky while your stuck on the ground doing physical therapy on a picnic table. At least with #2 your friends are stuck w/you on the ground and you know you can jump as soon as it blows over. "How do you keep your feet on the ground when you know you were born to fly?" Iflyme 0 #23 September 29, 2002 Having to work on a great skydiving day SUCKS!!! That's why I took Friday afternoon off -- and got in 2 great jumps!
christoofar 0 #24 September 29, 2002 How about #4 that happened to me last May: You are in the plane, half way out the door and your shoulder dislocates. Grab door, climb back in, sit down, ride plane down, reset shoulder. Then manifest won't let you load back up again for the rest of the day. ____________________________________________________________ I'm RICK JAMES! Fo shizzle. skymama 37 #25 September 29, 2002 I can't wait for winter to come so I can have an 80 degree day! For me, #2 is worse because I only get to jump every other weekend because of child care custody. So, if the weather sucks on my jumping weekend, then I know I have to wait 2 more weeks before I can try again. And, on blue sky days when I'm not jumping, I at least am doing something with my kids, so that's good too.She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
