Keith 0 #26 September 26, 2002 Egads, you said it yourself earlier. Be honest. Tell girl #1 the situation. I once went out with a guy who evenually told me he came to realize I wasn't "the one." At first I was pissed 'cause he dumped me, but then I was glad that he had the class to be respectful about the whole thing. Ever since then I've given the same respect to people I've moved past. I've been upfront and told them exactly where I was coming from.Keith Don't Fuck with me Keith - J. Mandeville
megscott73 0 #27 September 26, 2002 I was in a relationship over the summer with a guy who lived about an hour & a half away. After a few months with him, he met a girl in a bar and, like you, was REALLY interested in her. He asked me if we could 'be friends'(aaarrgghh!) and said he thought they had so much in common & were perfect for each other. He called her the 'girl of his dreams'. Long story short, she turned out to be a total psycho and now he wants me back. I'm totally over him and refuse to be second choice, so now he's alone. Just think carefully before you do anything drastic. ======================= "What I want is what I've not got ,but what I need is all around me"-DMB Meghan
SpeedRacer 1 #28 September 26, 2002 Yep, its funny how total psychos can put up a good front of sanity for the first couple of weeks (or more)of a relationship.... Speed Racer --------------------------------------------------
robzay 0 #29 September 26, 2002 I've been on both ends of this one... Went on a blind date, it was alright, but I didn't see it going anywhere. Told her I would call her and didn't. Hoping in a way she would get the hint after a few days. In my thinking, it was one date, nothing intimate, no harm, no foul. She didn't and called. After telling her (politely) that I was not interested, she told me in no short terms that I was wrong for not calling her. Went on a few dates with another lady. Thought there was something there and called her for another date. No return call... three times. It hurt, but I got the message and moved on. IMHO women want an answer one way or another. Guys can take the hint a little easier. Unless they're a stalker!!!
rhino 0 #30 September 26, 2002 Quotewhy do guys blow off girls? Some guys just resort to this tactic and leave girls wondering what happened...true sometimes there are extenuating circumstances, i.e. she is a psycho and lit your house on fire...but other than that...??? I know a lot of guys that feel this is just plain nasty and would never do it... Skygal, Some girls become so clingy and pathetic that it becomes an absolute annoyance to even look at them. Remember that people want what they can't have.. When you are easy and waaaaayy to giving up front you get blown off.. Rhino
SkymonkeyONE 4 #31 September 26, 2002 Quotewe girls on this end want the male point of view on this subject... I can think of a hundred reasons, all of which can and have been used in reverse on me or one of my friends: 1) A guy thinks a girls is really cool from what he knows of her or has been told by others. The guy begins to court the girl, who won't give it up just yet, and ultimately finds out that they are incompatible in the sack for one reason or another. Lack of gromming standards down there, lack of skills, odd inhibitions, etc.... 2) A guy courts a girl only to find out that she still is on several other dudes' bootie call list, or the phone never stops ringing at night when you are at her place. You get the picture. Even worse: people knocking on the door at 2 AM wanting to "visit". 3) You are race-biased and find out the chick used to date a (insert race of choice here). 4) You find out the chick is not "technically" divorced yet, like she told you. That or you find out she is married, living with someone, or has kids, but didn't tell you up front. Etc, etc, etc. 5) You find out the chick is a drug dealer and is under surveillance by "the man". Those are just a few examples. Chuck

skygal3 0 #33 September 26, 2002 I understand the clingy thing...and whole heartedly agree on that one...I agree on the pull back approach as well. Also, I agree with the no further phone call she will get the hint thing, then if not politely tell her you're not interested...my situation was a great date, "lets do another"...set that up...never heard from him. let it go, called a bit later..."what happened?" 'been so busy', ya ya ya...I'll call you we can do something...time passed...and here and there calls, always ending with "i'll call you" or "you know where to find me",...but nothing!!! what's up with that!!! I am so scared of ever seeming climgy or needy that I actually go out of my way to not be...and that can be bad too!!!

Vallerina 2 #35 September 26, 2002 Quotewe girls on this end want the male point of view on this subject... Hmmm....I think you girls are missing the obvious. A girl should never be blown off by a guy in this sport. First, start with the general male population...not the brightest of the bunch, especially when it comes to females. They want sex. Women (despite what the other thread says) also want sex....men haven't caught on to that yet. Once they do, we might be in trouble. Till then, you are surrounded by mostly men every weekend who think that they have no chance of getting some....how is it even possible to get blown off by a guy????There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

happythoughts 0 #46 September 26, 2002 "If a woman is acting like she doesn't give a shit about me, I'm not going to go groveling around trying to get her to go out with me out of charity. " Honesty is a good start. If the phrase "acting like..." comes into your dating schemes, you'll regret it. That is why I love women over 30. Less games. An agenda sometimes, but generally out in the open. People talk about the "difference" between men and women. They are pretty much the same. The difference is the games/manipulations they play when being dishonest.
robzay 0 #47 September 26, 2002 When we left each other I intended to. After getting home I thought about the evening and decided that we were going in different directions. It was one date, no big deal. In hindsight, I should have called her and thanked for a nice evening, but I am not interested. I thought I took the easier road for both and let it drop. As it was she called and I had to tell her anyway. Hindsight is 20/
