deadwood 0 #1 May 19, 2013 When building a slider, should you have the rolled rim of the grommet facing upward towards the canopy or downward towards the harness? He who hesitates shall inherit the earth. gowlerk 2,216 #2 May 19, 2013 All the dented ones I've seen have the rolled rim smashed from the link. So I guess that side is down.Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
riggerrob 643 #3 May 20, 2013 The spurred washer goes on the top of the slider and the grommet goes on the bottom. Also remember that sliders are traditionally sewn with fabric on the bottom and all reinforcing tapes on the top.

ctrph8 0 #5 June 5, 2013 deadwoodI've seen them both ways on reserve canopies from the same manufacturer. I seem to remember something about putting the spurred washer on top because if there was a problem with it later and one of the spurs became accessible, it would be pointing away from the canopy and not tear up the fabric or get caught up on a line attachment. riggerrob 643 #6 June 7, 2013 I thought that we installed the grommet on the bottom and the washer on top because the grommet has a larger radius, ergo the lines would slide upwards smoother.
