Scratch 0 #2 September 17, 2002 I am surprised they got it back in the same condition. I would have expected it to have been fitted with alloy wheels and extra spoilers. To have been repainted a bright lime green and have a Rajiets silencer services sticker on the rear window. To have stereo system that can wake the dead installed under the pilots seat and an AK47 stashed under the co-pilots seat. Finally seating space would have been increased from 6 to 16. bluefingers 0 #3 September 17, 2002 you forgot the flashing neon lights and the fluffy toy just large enought to obscure the pilot's vision dangling in the windscreen! Kerry
Scratch 0 #4 September 17, 2002 You are so right. I also forgot the HUGE Orlando Pirates....up the Bucs decal on the rear window so that the pilot cannot see out of that one either. Imagine jumping the thing. As you get to the spot you lean forward, slip the co-pilot (Guardtjie) R150 and say "here". Said lime green Cessna will come to a dead halt in under 3 meters so you can get out.
bluefingers 0 #5 September 17, 2002 Oh the tears .... you are TOO MUCH!!! ... btw ... was the joystick intact? OR did he break that and re-attach it with wire and insulation tape? Kerry
Scratch 0 #6 September 17, 2002 Quote... was the joystick intact? OR did he break that and re-attach it with wire and insulation tape? Nothing wrong with wire and insulation tape. Thousands of perfectly usable and safe taxis are kept running on South African roads through the libral use of wire and insulation tape. Although in this case, seeing that this is an aircraft we are talking about I would imagine that in the interests of extra safety the wire and tape would have been dispenced with in favour of a shifting spanner or vice grips.. jraf 0 #9 September 17, 2002 You Boers are very indecent people, making fun of you know who. Since it was undamaged, un-souped up and landed in a public place my impression is that perhaps there are some mushrooms growing not far from that DZ. Please, if you have a chance, keep us posted on the investigation, gutt?jraf Me Jungleman! Me have large Babalui. Muff #3275

mountainman 0 #12 September 17, 2002 You think this was just a student pilot who wanted to get some more flying time? I wonder if he'll log it and get caught in 3 weeks because an instructor saw it. That would be great! http://www.brandonandlaura.com
jraf 0 #13 September 17, 2002 Naaaaah, the pilot was former Polish air force and we were in a 3 seat PZL Wilga - funky little plane. helicam 0 #15 September 17, 2002 Seeing as it was a jumpship...maybe the brakes were replaced by pieces of cardboard and a drogue was used to stop it? I am ready to meet my Maker. PhreeZone 20 #16 September 17, 2002 >maybe the brakes were replaced by pieces of cardboard What upgrading it from the old tennis shoes? And why waste a drouge like that? Use a Static Line student like an anchor, way cheaper and easier to replace them then a drogue.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
helicam 0 #17 September 17, 2002 True.....but if he snags his reserve.......repack and all that, then again who says there isn't a load of laundry in the reserve tray! I am ready to meet my Maker. PhreeZone 20 #18 September 17, 2002 You give your students reserves? Why? they never remember to use them in the first place and need that stupid AAD to pull. Its a lot easier if you wire the reserve closed with a bunch of foam in it incase they chew through the wire after all. Then just tell them they have to pack it. If they burn in, get the right before the feds get there and no one needs to know. Oh yeah, its also easier if you have your JM hold the scorrect length of static line to make sure they get the right delay. Its 300 feet for the 5 seconds, 1000 for the 10 seconds, 2000 for the 20 seconds. Anything shorter and you are shorting the student. happythoughts 0 #24 September 25, 2002 "Videos of farm attacks were screened at these meetings, causing concern in organised agricultural circles. Farmers had repeatedly gathered to register their dissatisfaction over "unbridled crime" on farms. Lourens du Plessis, a millionaire farmer in the area and one of the alleged far-rightwingers in custody, appears to have organised several of the meetings. " Let me get this straight. 1-There are attacks on farms. 2-The farmers video them. 3-The farmers complain about the attacks. 4-The farmers are arrested for looking at the videos ?? Not being there, I assume I am missing a piece of information. What ?
