cbain 0 #1 September 24, 2002 Well, I'm an engineer at big company, and I've hated my job ever since before I started it. So I've decided that now is the time to do something about it rather than waiting around hating my job for 10-20 years and then wondering where my life went. That's right I'm quitting, telling them I'll be gone Jan. 1, 2003 and with my vacation it'll actually be closer to Christmas. I'm selling everything I own, except my gear and my cats, getting a camper van and going to hit the road! Yes, I've thought long and hard about this and I'm sure this is what I want to do. Yes, I know the consequences of what I'm doing. You can call me crazy but I'm still going to do it. Some many posts about cutting away from relationships just thought I'd throw this one out there too. I cut away from the relationship over a year ago, officially the divorce was final this past June. I'm only 24, I'm young and healthy and this is something I've always wanted to do so why wait! Christina

mujie96 0 #3 September 24, 2002 Hmmm, now that everyone's bringing up their cutaways, I realized this is a major year for me. I fired the husband and divorce was final in June and I'll be out of the military in a matter of weeks. Woohoo! Good job cbain, ALWAYS keep the cats. Jess Just keep swimming...just keep swimming.... cbain 0 #10 September 24, 2002 Sounds like fun to me! We'd have all kinds of interesting stories to tell then! We could add Jess too and have enough for a free fly team, or with one more recent divorcee we could have a 4 way team. Coming soon to a dropzone near you... if we feel like it. I love the freedom! ADRNALN 0 #23 September 24, 2002 I hear you. If I wasn't behind the age curve I would be there with you (well, not right there with you since having someone you didn't even know being right there would be a freaker). Go for it while you still can. Have fun!
skip 0 #24 September 24, 2002 WOW! I am uber jealous as well. I also work for a huge corporation and though I actually like my job quite well I often want to do the exact same thing. I’ve already contemplated life lived out of a van, mapped out free showers around the states, found worthy homes for Ozzy the cat. However when push comes to shove it aint going to happen, not any time soon. Good luck to you. You still need to take me out sometime and show me how this skydiving thing is done. .:skip
