skygal3 0 #1 September 21, 2002 Ugh, Ugh, Ugh!!!!!! How I hate working on Saturdays... By the way, let me introduce myself...I am a newbie, to the board and to the skydiving world...but it is in my blood!!! There is no better air than at 13500ft and better feeling than playing up there! I began skydiving this summer...I am **still** in my AFF courses...looking forward to tomorrow, hoping! the weather will cooperate so I can get in at least 1 (2?) more jumps...(and a smoother landing this time...please!!!)I have been quietly reading your posts on these forums and have now decided to come out of my shell and introduce myself! So, is anyone else sharing the misery of being at work today?
Brisco 0 #2 September 21, 2002 Welcome Skygal! I'm working this morning, but that's only because of a family (read whuffo) get-together this afternoon that is keeping me away from the dz hmmm... maybe if I just keep talking about skydiving all afternoon, the family will ban me from any more functions! I can see it now, me, Christmas morning, sitting at the dz and wondering where everyone is! LOL On the bright side, working pays for jumps!! Brisco Experience is what you get when you don't get what you want.

weid14 0 #6 September 21, 2002 Im sitting here at work, been here since 6am, nice full moon driving in this morning though. Hey, if you're in New England, better get that AFF done this month, but you already knew the weather up there in Ocotber usually is windy (I learned in Sept/Oct, upstate NY - near VT, so I had to sit many days while it was sunny with the wind blowing 30 mph)
jessefs 0 #7 September 21, 2002 Don't feel bad, I work every Sat, and Sun (mon, tue) night from 10pm to 8am (including Friday this week) Still jumping today though, thank god for coffee! (other than dz.com????) unfortunately for my employer, that is pretty much how I spend the afternoon...looking forward to my sunday at the dz itself! I know what you mean about NE weather...the past few attempts I have made, it was just way too windy for a newbie like me to jump...ooooooohhhhhhh, just thinking about the sunny blue sky and the cool wind rushing my face........ack!!! I gotta get outta here! (leave my job...pro...no money, no jumping...con...) what's a gal to do???
VisionAir 0 #9 September 21, 2002 I'm not jumping this weekend either....BooHooHoo.....I'm missing a Casa boogie in Missouri... BooHooHoo...I get to play Mister Mom this weekend whilst Momma is off gambling in Laughlin for her B-day. I got to go to Rantoul and she gets to do this. ltdiver 3 #10 September 21, 2002 Worked weekends at the DZ for the past 3 years (video/AFF). Just now been offered a steady job that will require 1 weekend/month away. Good for steady pay, but is it worth it to accept??? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

kiltboy 0 #15 September 21, 2002 Yeah I'm working to. Trying to finish up grad school so I'm working in the lab. Just called the DZ and the weather is overcast at 2300 so I couldn't jump anyway. David
skygal3 0 #16 September 21, 2002 ok, so to pass the time between all of us stuck indoors today... Question:What is your favorite dz moment from summer 2002? mine would have to be tiki weekend...too many good moments to post, but I never knew how hot or how fast a couch could burn! Also, perfecting my very first aff freefall(...but blowing the landing!)
VisionAir 0 #17 September 21, 2002 Mine would have to be..... Lining up a grp of drunks (me included) to drop our pants and bare our asses (per request) to a large group of 40-70 year old rich bitch (5 millionaires and a billionaire incld) wuffo women that call themselves "The Ya-Yas" that came to watch one of their own do a tandem and stuck around to party afterwards. Huh?!? What cloud?!? Oh that!!! That's just Industrial Haze Alex M.
kiltboy 0 #18 September 21, 2002 Too many good moments to narrow it down. Every exit I nailed just felt awesome, flying with a coach and proving to myself that I can do some RW even if it's only 2 ways just now. Talking to a tandem student the age of my mum, she was nervous in the plane, and then talking to her on the ground afterwards. Very cool. Being part of the crowd that mooned a 30 year jumper as he swooped in on the last load of the day. Being around people that jump and sharing the experience. freeflir29 0 #19 September 21, 2002 Working!!! I did get in one jump today before I had to show up though. So, it's not a total loss. Plus....I have this coming Friday off. 3 Day weekend at the DZ. Hope the weather is good.
quade 4 #20 September 21, 2002 Got into work today a little before 11 am and got everything set up by about 1 pm. First TV interviews are about 3 and last until 9 tonight. So, unless something goes up in smoke, I'll be sitting on my butt in my cubical or one of the edit bays waiting to break it all down. Gotta love the entertainment industry. Not so much hurry up and wait as wait, and wait and wait. Speaking of which, I can't hardly wait until tomorrow. This has been one of the longest weeks ever. Some sort of temporal displacement field in my cubical makes this last week seem like at least a couple of months. I'm quickly going insane.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Jessica 0 #23 September 21, 2002 I work every weekend afternoon/evening. It's crap! I jumped twice this morning but stayed too late at the dz (natch) so drove like a bat out of hell straight to work in my skydiving t-shirt and cutoffs (luckily I had jeans in the car) and slid into the news meeting only three minutes late but with freefall hair in the shape of an afro. Put your money on a repeat tomorrow. Oh, and welcome to dz.com. Skydiving is for cool people only
