lauril 0 #1 September 18, 2002 Hello all skydivers ! I'm maybe going on a vacation in spain next easter, and I'm just wondering if I should take my rig with me, screw the sightseeing and just fly the whole week or two.. So whatta you say ? Of course skydiving beats the crap out of sightseeing, but I'm going to marbella, so If you know any dropzones near marbella or in andalucia region, or anywhere in southern spain, please let me know ! Remster 30 #4 September 18, 2002 Hey Lauril, unfortunatly, the list of DZ in spain on dz.com aint too long. http://www.dropzone.com/dropzone/Europe/Spain/index.html you can have a look at a longer lis on http://www.skydiveworld.com/english/sweden.htm (i know it says sweden, but it also has spain on that page) Seville is your best bet, never been around there, so dont know how it is. the busiest dz in spain is Empuria, but thats 1 - 1/2 hours north of Barcelona, wrong side of the contry for ya.Remster

PhillyKev 0 #6 September 18, 2002 Empuria may be on the other side of the country from where you'll be, but they have an Easter boogie every year, which is when you said you'll be there. Haven't been there but have heard really good things about it. I've been thinking about going to that next year for my vacation.

Remster 30 #8 September 18, 2002 Easter is a funny time for Empuria. The weather can be very very variable. In the last 2 years, we've lucked out: 6 out of 8 days year 1; 3 out of 4 days last year, but it was not superb weather (still better then the UK). Bring warm underwear. In Cataluna, winter and early spring can get a wind called the Tramontana which can blow 80 km/h easy for a week. Still, for Xmas and Easter, its one (if not the) busiest DZ in europe. Last year was a bit dissapointing attendance wise (the weather didnt help). I'm not trying to diss the DZ.. I love the place, but be warned, it may be in sunny Spain, but its in Northern Spain....Remster
