freeflir29 0 #26 September 11, 2002 QuoteI'm getting out of the military in about 6 weeks. This December it will be 2 years since I got out of the Air Force. Spent 9 years 6 months and 6 days in. Haven't regretted leaving for even 1 second. Enjoy yourself...it's pretty cool out here.

mujie96 0 #28 September 12, 2002 George is THE rigger, I'm not sure about the other guys that pack. You might be able to pull off being a tandem master here-the Japanese tourists are TINY. Jess Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....
Deuce 1 #29 September 12, 2002 One of my mentors, Connie Krusi, is only about 5'4". If not for the petite ones, the huge ones wouldn't get to jump too much. She amazes me flaring with some moose strapped onto her belly, but she says it's all leverage. She started in Hawaii.
Scoby 0 #30 September 12, 2002 Slightly on topic, how much does a tandem master make per jump? I've always wondered what percentage of that $180 gets kicked back to the TM.

hohonukai 0 #34 September 12, 2002 Ironically, after posting this thread, I got a call late afternoon yesterday from a buddy of mine to go for a coffee break. He offers me a job as a sys admin for his company down the street. Not sure about the salary yet, but he said no interviews, he already told his boss I'm legit. Plus, all you IT geeks out there, they just acquired a training center for solaris, oracle, cisco, veritas, and win2k. So, that means free training. argh. Why didn't I follow my dreams as a kid and become a dolphin trainer? Right now I could be working at Sea Life Park swimming with dolphins. ! ! I wonder if they offer tuition reimbursement. Why don't you do it know? And if you're not happy doing what you're doing now, why are you considering your friends offer? Seriously, if you're not having fun in your current job... the handle is on the right: grab-peel-pull...chi-chink! Erno
happythoughts 0 #36 September 12, 2002 Red Lobster has a contract-basis job open. A lot of the lobsters get an antennae busted on occasion. They don't sell as well because people see them as "damaged". They pay people on a per-unit basis to reattach the broken appendage. You get to work your own hours and you can work from home. The little known field of lobster repair is very lucrative.
Ducky 0 #37 September 13, 2002 After a myriad of different jobs from Marketing Direstcors slave for a a rug iomporter to, Production. sup for a toolmaker to Strip club DJ I finally found a niche. I always loved building things and knew a good bit about it. I worked in different aspects of home construction for the past 5 years. I had always done small jobs here and there and had the carpentry in my blood. Now I work for a Premeire home builder, bringing people's dream houses to life. It's great I am a superinttndent with full control over every aspect of construction. I still like to get my hands dirty on occasion so I take on different small parts of each home for myself. No 2 days are ever alike I can be outsidse or in. I drive tons one day and none the next. I spend alot of time on the phone, but equal time meeting face to face w/ homeowners, contractors and vendors. The best part when it's all said and done I have something significant to show for my work. My resume is physical, homes awarded by historical societies, envied by neighbors and copied by many. The pay well it's ok not great probably doing about the same or a lil better than my buddies who went to college w/o the loans to pay back. Would I ever "cut-away"? Hell yes, I am very happy doing what I do, but never satisfied either. I can always be more happy. I take what I want from this job and move on. Iwatched my father fall at a relatively young age doing the corporate shuffle and swore I would never do that. He had a great job and provided well, but I don't thing man was happy a day that I knew him. As for giving my life story I apologize, but thta's how I am. I don't give advice I just share MY experiences and hope that perhaps others can relate them to their own situation. I wish you luck and hope you find the answers you need. KwakSometimes your the bug, sometimes your the windshield. Sometimes your the hammer sometimes your the nail. Question is Hun, Do you wanna get hammered or do you wanna get nailed?????
