wildblue 7 #52 August 26, 2002 Quote0 (Number of hot air balloons that I saw in the air at Richmond's alleged hot air balloon festival): When were you there? I saw video from Lew of her landing after a sunset load, and there being a ton of ballons (15 or more) and they were doing their little 'ballon glow' thing... very fricken cool looking. I think the vid was from Saturday evening.it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality

SkymonkeyONE 4 #55 August 26, 2002 2(days I suffered through tremendous hangovers):6:1(case I didn't owe, but brought to the pool anyway) I am on leave for about two and a half weeks, so I saw no reason to limit my partying. Oh, the PAIN. I was "officially" awarded my double diamond wings yesterday in front of the school. 3000th was actually on the 4th of July, in case you forgot. No telling how long it will take to get in Parachutist. I am pretty sure I spent at least as much time in Scott's pool as I did in the air this weekend. I got 79 seconds of freefall time, which is pretty good for FF. Can't wait to go up again! Hey..... I think I'll just go jump today! C-ya BooYa#1 GR#50 You might be a skydiver if... Jessica 0 #59 August 26, 2002 3/0:2:0 Three days until my move/zero boxes packed. Two jumps squeezed in before work yesterday...one solo "sit" (I've got to get some coaching. I may be heading to Waller soon to hit up those obnoxious freeflying freaks), and one four-way gone horribly, horribly wrong. Still fun though. I've never seen someone fall for that long on his back before.Skydiving is for cool people only
Rachill 0 #60 August 26, 2002 Oh yeah.... made another night jump too! Houston looks so bad ass from the air at night! And if you look the opposite way, you can see the ocean and the moon reflecting off it....... it was so pretty!!! BooYa#1 GR#50 You might be a skydiver if... CanuckInUSA 0 #67 August 26, 2002 Bummer as I'm off on a backpacking trip this Labor Day weekend in the mountains (the first weekend in the last six weeks that I'll be doing no jumping). But have fun in Denver. Is your friend a jumper or a Whuffo? If they are a jumper then you should visit one of the area DZs, otherwise you should visit the mountains. Either way, you should have fun. tadbad 0 #69 August 26, 2002 Bummer!! Well, I hope you have fun in the mountains. I hope your withdrawal symptons from jumping aren't too severe!! My friend is a whuffo...so no jumping for me either this weekend. We are planning on doing some hiking in the mountains. I am really looking forward to it since the last time I was out there the weather was so bad I couldn't even see the mountains. ----------------------------------------------------- When you're going to extremes...you taste adrenaline!! CanuckInUSA 0 #70 August 26, 2002 It's too early to tell for sure, but I'd be willing to bet that the weather will be awesome next weekend. Typically around here during the summer months, the mornings and early afternoons are nothing but sunny skies and warm dry temperatures. And then often (this year seems to be the exception) we get some nasty thunder showers which develop in the late afternoons thanks to the convective heating and the mountains (which trap the clouds in certain valleys). Then everything clears out and the evenings are quite pleasant and the whole process is repeated almost on a daily basis. Have fun here in beautiful Colorado next week.
