RodeStier 0 #2 August 25, 2002 Try "msconfig". You can acces it via Start->Run and the just type msconfig. In msconfig check the parts "services" and "startup" Hope this will help you

skymut 0 #4 August 26, 2002 I'm trying to get an exact idea of what you see when the system starts up. Are you talking about a 'window' that shows items that are in the 'common' directory? PhreeZone 20 #7 August 26, 2002 You clear out the registry in the services/run folder if it had a key for the folder?Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
wildblue 7 #8 August 26, 2002 In NT 4 the system32 folder would pop up if something tried to access a file that wasn't there. I'm guessing that is what's happening here? Delete/uninstall any software lately? Check the event log, anything there? What progams do you have that launch with windows? Anti-virus? MSN IM? Anything like that - prevent them from starting up with windows, and see what happens. It could also be a weird registry entry. Check: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run and HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Runit's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality
SkydiveMonkey 0 #9 August 26, 2002 It's cool now - had a problem with the profile I was using (Admin). Luckily I made a backup account that I never made use of and forgot about. ____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
