indyz 1 #2 August 21, 2002 My favorite part is quoted below (funny/sad stuff is highlighted): Quote"EXTRA HIGH" FREE-FALL OPTION only $10 per 1,000' optional. So instead of Jumping from 8,000' feet above sea level, if you want, we'll can take you All the Way Up to 14,000' above sea level for only $10 per 1,000' as an option. This can Increase your Free-Fall time from about 10 seconds to about 51 seconds of FALLING if you want !! All of our Airplanes have now been Up-Dated with Factory Brand New "Extra Big" Engines and Propellers to achieve the Extra High Altitudes. Then, after the Extra-High Airplane Exit and Free-Fall, we still have an Awesome 5 to 7 minute Parachute Ride ahead of us; Soaring, Gliding, and having Fun steering the over-sized Parachute built for two. Couldn't THEY "find" a high School student to "proof read" this Monstrosity for them?
bivar 0 #3 August 21, 2002 "Extra big engines and propellar", thats funny. Is this somekind of a scam? (Am I allowed to say that, or are they going to sue me bigtime now?) BI----------------------------------------
skymut 0 #4 August 21, 2002 Infomercial galore. QuoteWe import them from Germany and are the ONLY skydiving school in the U.S. to use a CYPRES on all of our jumps. They must have visited a lot of dropzones to be able to make that claim. Matt A well-informed person is somebody who has the same views and opinions as yours. jfields 0 #5 August 21, 2002 So an "extra high" skydive from 14,000 feet with video would cost $364. That seems like it is way on the high side. [sarcasm] Of course, each of their staff members has more experience than the combinded staff at most dropzones, and they are the only dropzone in the US to use AAD's in all their tandem rigs, so it must be worth it. [/sarcasm] These folks give a bad name to skydivers and appear to be in business just to scam whuffos. Pathetic bastards.
Dumpster 0 #6 August 21, 2002 What a joke!! I guess I'll just leave my rig home when the wife and I go to Vegas next winter- let's see- $179 to 8,000' - plus ten bucks per thousand after that that would $239 bones for a jump we charge $185 for - and $165 if you get here at before 8:00 am - You're right ! This place is a JOKE!! That Cypres claim is funny as hell! Actually, the whole damn ad is funny as hell! Easy Does It

PhreeZone 20 #10 August 21, 2002 Actually... check out the Gravity Zone DZ in Jean NV. Its a cool place from online accounts and they allow fun jumpers there...Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
greenlightgirl 0 #11 August 21, 2002 I guess my DZ's student rigs with CYPRES was a dream? I could have SWORN we had them. But, if SLV is the ONLY DZ to offer them, I must be mistaken. Geeeeeeeeeeez, what a STUPID ad...for a STUPID website, for an obviously some-what confused DZ.Alisha "Allie" Carsten

sar911 0 #17 August 21, 2002 Let me see if I understand. If the mission statement of the USPA is Dedicated to Promoting Safe Skydiving and Supporting Those Who Enjoy It”, would this put them in violation of the mission, goals, rules and regulations of our association? Do we want these people representing our membership and our sport to the public? To blindly judge me and every other skydiver is prejudice by any definition. To hold us accountable for others actions clearly shows how incompetent they are. Why is it that the other 190 DZ’s in the USA don’t have this problem? If they speak badly of our members in writing on a public web site, imagine what the say to the people that come there. And to think that only their training and instructors are good enough is about as elitist as you can be. You can bet that I would recommend their DZ to people, NOT. freeflir29 0 #18 August 21, 2002 I still don't think it's cool....but...in their defense, I can understand. After the law suit fiasco I would be a little shy about fun jumpers too.

lummy 4 #20 August 24, 2002 Last time I checked their web site, they were only allowing fun jumpers that had graduated from their AFF program. Something about all them lawless 1 percenters who would regularly break the rules. I guess paying another $289 again just to watch a coupla AFF instructors Freak might be worth it...I promise not to TP Davis under canopy..
