airgord 1 #27 August 19, 2002 Besides the two pinched discs in my neck that cause my left index fingertip to tingle I would have to say my worst injury is going from making 48k a year to making 10 dollars per jump AP (after packer). however, I am now living my dream of being a professional cameraflyer, so I sleep pretty well now, can't afford to do alot, but I do get say that I have the coolest job there is ( my opinion of course) . skymama 37 #29 August 19, 2002 August 2000...3rd jump off student status, did a low turn from about 30' up and plowed myself into the runway. Fortunately, my ass took the brunt of it, but it was purple for a month. I still have a lump of scar tissue on the right cheek. I also broke my toe, my nose and had a ton of road rash on my face, hands, shoulder, and knee. The swelling in my hands was so bad, I couldn't put them below my heart for a week. I also have a permanant black line on my nose called a traumatic tattoo from the roadrash. On top of all that, I had to pay the dz $600 for the damage to the jumpsuit, altimeter, helmet and rig that I caused. A lesson learned! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

The cracked wrist bones only kept me down a couple weeks. 7th jump I did a forward loop on a SL exit. My legs got caught up in the lines of my deploying main, the opening shock left me with a black and blue leg and a nasty scar(healed after a year). Also suffered from Muenkel tunnel syndrome last March. Currently I'm down with something wrong with my right ear. Don't know if jumping caused it or just made it worse. Right now I'm wondering if something like hang gliding, while probably more dangerous, might not be easier on the body.
