TomAiello 26 #51 August 19, 2002 Well, it wasn't actually skydiving (I've never been hurt out of a plane), but... See attached. That's my spinal column. The accident involved a loss of altitude awareness, pitching at 80 feet, three factured vertebrae and an exploded large intestine. The recovery involved two weeks in ICU, 18 hours in neurosurgery, two months in the hospital, a dozen intestinal surgeries, three months with nasty appliances attached to my body, and six months of physical therapy. Jump from the cliff to fly, but only if you're willing to accept the consequences.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
freeflir29 0 #52 August 19, 2002 Cracked my tail bone once during a no flair landing. Lots of bruises, a few scrapes, and some sore muscles now and again. I've been pretty lucky I think. Might should have killed myself once or twice...

sunshine 2 #64 August 19, 2002 QuoteWell a skydiver broke my heart once.....does that count? Of course it counts. A broken heart hurts way worse than a broken bone. My worst physical injury was April 2001. I had a bad landing, took a trip to the ER and had to walk with a cane for 4 weeks. I was also grounded from jumping for 4 weeks...but who listens to dr.'s? I was jumping 6 days after the injury. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!

slotperfect 7 #73 August 20, 2002 Jump #8, sprained ankle from 1) letting it fly too close to the ground, and 2) landing on the side hill of a big ditch. Put me down for about 3 weeks. Not the best injury STORY of my illustrious career, but the worst (I guess I'm doing pretty well!).Arrive Safely John
Kris 0 #74 August 20, 2002 Sprained ankle two years ago. Here's the painful part, it was the week before Quincy 2000. I still went, I still jumped. KrisSky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
fudd 0 #75 August 20, 2002 I don't get hurt Seriously, by normal standards I should have hurt myself several times, not only during skydiving. I've walked away without scratches from diving headdow concrete stairs on inlines. I've accedentally run of 4-5 meter high cliffs on slalom skies. I've chopped myself in the ancle with an axe by accident. (chopping wood). It hurt a little, but I didn't even get a bruise... Never broken a single bone in my body. Guess I might be "unbreakable" There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
