Skyvixen 0 #1 August 13, 2002 All my previous post meant, was that I have never meant any single male skydiver that didn't live in a trailer and live pack job to pack job. I have a good job and I jump on weekends. I 'm not a gold digger. Just curious whats out there. I may be missing somethingLet's put the FUN back in Funeral Life is a Freefall Enjoy!! lazide 0 #4 August 13, 2002 You are missing something I am a single guy with a well paying job who jumps on weekends, and I don't see many single women jumpers. nws01 0 #7 August 13, 2002 I am a skydiver and I have a good well paying job. I work Monday through Friday and jump on weekends. Sometimes I take afternoons off and jump then too. I pay my bills on time and I have a car that isn't about to break down. Although seven months ago I lost my job in Florida because I was always at the dropzone. I am on the rebound now but sooner or later I will probably lose my job again.

meatmissile 0 #10 August 13, 2002 I know a lot of guys like the ones you are looking for, trouble is they're quite fussy . What makes you special? Have you any special skills? What do you look like? Narrow it down a bit. -- ZZZzzzz....
PLFXpert 0 #11 August 13, 2002 There are a lot of ladies out there that fit your same description of living in a trailer and living off pack jobs. Don't discriminate. First, nothings wrong w/ the simple life of a trailer and skydiving all day. Sounds pretty ass tempting to me. But, I do see your point, and I must agree w/ the others, you're not looking hard enough. There are more than a few guys at my DZ who have nice homes and good jobs AND compete in skydiving. I met a hottie and snatched him right up, two years ago. But I got lucky. When I snatched him up, he didn't have any of that. When he fell in love w/ me, suddenly his goals changed. He wanted a house, he wanted a business and he got both. Let me tell ya, hunny, there are plenty more delectible choices around. There are also a lot of those "trailer guys" that you've dismissed that I think are pretty damn intelligent and a great catch, too. I've got what I want, but DAMN there are some mighty fine skydivers around. For me, it's a funny twist of events. I am working hard now and making good money so one day, I can retire, buy a nice trailer and live on the dz, skydiving all day. When I think of that, I think, "maybe these guys and girls have it figured out better than me. They bipased the job, the money, and went straight to the trailer and skydiving all day." So before you compare lifestyles, you might want to re-evaluate some things. To each his own. People take different paths to getting what they want out of life. If what you want is a skydiver w/ a good job and a nice house, there is NOTHING wrong w/ that. But in the process of looking, just make sure you don't write off people b/c at first glance, they might not fit your ideal. You might be surprised and trust me, skydivers are the sexiest guys around. There are plenty to choose from.
bbarnhouse 0 #12 August 13, 2002 Sangiro is NEVER nasty (if you discount the red hot fork). Lets get something straight here.......maybe people live in trailers because they choose to. Maybe they can afford NOT to work, or maybe they work at the DZ. Maybe they are on a team, maybe they CHOOSE to live the simple life. Maybe there are some well edumacated people that think that THIS is life. This thread is downright pathetic. When you walk the walk of someone else it brings a greater understanding. Not everyone has the need to live the lifestyle, many have been there and done that. Living in a trailer does not make for a lesser person, packing for a living is damn hard work and can be a rather profitable one as well. When was the last time you made $500 in a day? I generally don't ire easily, but this thread as well as the other imho was mean spirited.
rhino 0 #13 August 13, 2002 o.k. everyone relax. She didn't mean it personally just figuratively. She has her own standards and that is her choice not ours Personally I like the fact that she has an idea of what she wants. Alot of people have no clue. Go get coffee, a donut or something and take a chill pill..
diverdriver 5 #14 August 13, 2002 Skyvixen, I'll have you know that I'm an airline pilot now. But for a time I was homeless. Living in a tent. Living pack job to pack job. I had come from a bad flying job and packing for a living was a quick and easy way for me to keep paying my bills. I was owed a lot of money from my previous job and had to do something. Skydiving offered me a chance to get back on my feet. Earn some money. Work hard and built a reputation as a hard worker. Then I got trained to fly the Twin Otters and build the rest of my time up so I could get on with an airline. But I will never forget the time I spent living in a TENT trying to make it and the people who looked through me like I was transparent because of it. I know who my REAL friends are. And they aren't the ones who care that I make an airline pilot's salary.Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

nws01 0 #17 August 13, 2002 Just because you live in a trailer doesn't mean your like people on the Jerry Springer Show! If I had a choice I would want to live in a RV so I could work out of there and travel from DZ to DZ!

PLFXpert 0 #25 August 13, 2002 No problem. Good luck. Remember, contrary to popular opinion on here, there is nothing wrong with what you want. The only thing, I see wrong, is not giving people a chance b/c at first glance, they don't fit that "ideal" you have set for yourself. Keep an open mind. There is nothing more beautiful. I guarantee you'll be pleasantly surprised with what someone you might have dismissed has to offer..
