CanuckInUSA 0 #40 August 5, 2002 But you're here and that has to count for something. Are you enrolled in an AFF or static line course? Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
megscott73 0 #41 August 5, 2002 I am not enrolled yet, but I'm going to be doing the AFF. I wanted to do right away, but I'm not able to financially. My car died last month & I had to buy a new one. But I'm saving every penny I have & hopefully will be able to do it by next spring. It seems to be all I think about lately! lol======================= "What I want is what I've not got ,but what I need is all around me"-DMB Meghan
CanuckInUSA 0 #42 August 5, 2002 Bummer about the car, but hopefully the wait will be worth it. I graduated from my AFF course yesterday and like you, it's hard to think of anything else at this moment. monkeybot 0 #44 August 5, 2002 Quotefor me it was five years married after two years of dating...when we realized we both wanted completely different things out of life. we had grown in opposite directions and our lifestyles were no longer compatible. we decided to split, which was an agonizing decision because we still cared for each other, but knew that if we stayed together, no matter what we did, one of us would be unhappy. as difficult as it was at the time, it turned out for the better in the end: he is remarried and very happy. i started traveling and skydiving and met my boyfriend at the dz! the moral of this story (good god) is that it is so important to be true to yourself. in the end the heartache will make you stronger and wiser. and you will ALWAYS have the love and support of your skydiving family!!! (big hug) This just seems like my life story.1 1/2 dating, 3 1/2 married, 1 1/2 divorced. I met my significant other at the DZ too. -------------------------------- I have no friends under 2K

cbain 0 #47 August 6, 2002 Hey Zennie, Hope you're doing okay. I've told you my story before I know but this thread got me to thinking. 3 years dating, 3 years married, 1 year seperated, divorce final in June. You know, a marriage as you put time into it is like an investment, that time is gone and you can't get it back no matter what. That time is like sunken costs but for the future are you going to start getting a return on your investment or are you just going to be sinking more time into it and still not getting anything back. After we were seperated a while we both realized that we were much happier and doing much better apart than we did together. And skydiving wasn't a factor because I didn't start until long after we were seperated. Anyways, enough rambling, I just hope things work out for you and you can find happiness either way.
