TomAiello 26 #2 August 1, 2002 How are your packing skills? A good jumpsuit should only be 60 pack jobs or so. With the right DZ, you could do that in a weekend...-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com

TomAiello 26 #4 August 1, 2002 Dude, learn! It's been the ticket into skydiving for a generation of starving college students. With a job, it's a great bonus when the bank account is depleted (and a real savings--packing your own is like getting every fourth jump free).-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
Viking 0 #5 August 1, 2002 I agree with you but i go to the DZ to jump, take picture, and have fun, not stay in a packing loft for a good portion of the day and pack.I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver My God has a bigger dick than your god -George Carlin
billvon 2,991 #6 August 1, 2002 >I agree with you but i go to the DZ to jump, take picture, and have > fun . . . Many of us paid for our first jumps packing. If you don't have enough money to jump/buy gear, your alternatives are: 1. Not jump or buy gear 2. Make more money Packing is a good way to make more money. PhreeZone 20 #7 August 1, 2002 I know of a packer that bought his rig, student training and most of his jumps on money from packing. Its good money if you want it... He's making about $25-40 an hour on the weekends.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
bbarnhouse 0 #8 August 1, 2002 Ok there is a gal here that packs 70-100 rigs everyday during team trianing. Lord knows how many she does during the season. Do the math......tax free.......not a bad living.
PhreeZone 20 #9 August 1, 2002 [all legal mode ]......tax free..... Well.. she should be paying taxes as a contractor to the government [/all legal mode] All in all... at a good DZ, a packer can clear 200-300 a day easy if they are fast.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

nws01 0 #13 August 1, 2002 I say you start packing and have sex with one of the female packers. That way you will kill two birds with one stone sort of thing.

Find different colored markers and write "Will Pack For Sex." Then, feel free to add pictures.A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All

thrillseek 0 #16 August 1, 2002 IMHO, you shouldn't be allowed to jump if you don't know how to maintain and pack your gear. Personally, i'd rather have my life in my own hands. I started packing for myself at jump number 8, which was a malfunction (someone else's packjob). Maybe you'd have a different outlook if that had happened to you? Zenister 0 #17 August 2, 2002 well the packing class IS a requirement for your A. and i do on occasion pack. but not when i can afford to support someone else, AND get more jumps in during the day because of it. Sure i would LOVE to quit this often annoying, but its what gives me the cash to do 12-15 jumps on the occasional weekends when i'm not bouncing around the planet... (and sometimes when i am) ps. you should see that grrl Betsy mentioned pack, never bends her knees such a WONDERFUL sight to see when wandering back into the hanger ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed.
