AndyMan 7 #32 July 29, 2002 516.7(miles driven):4:1 I packed up the car and drove from Chicago down to Archway for the weekend, and as usual had a great time. Notable first was for my 1st camera jump. I attempted filming a 3-way rw jump. I think they were in frame for a grand total of about 8 seconds. D'oh! However my last jump was better, I even got the exit shot - from a caravan with no camera step. WooHoo! 24 Moosehead purchased. Other notables include me jumping my stileto again, and standing up my landings (I'd been butt-sliding intentionally.) These MIGHT be considered "firsts", because they were both "first in 5 weeks". I'm psyched because this means I'll be in true form for Rantoul. This also means I'll need a new profile pic. Damn. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. dmddave 0 #33 July 29, 2002 2:1:1:1 2 jumps, 1 night jump(1st), 1 broken tibia(1st break), 1 case of beer for the night jump which I didn't get to drink due to the trip to the ER for x-rays and cast. The night jump was mostly fun until the landing with overcast skies lightning in the distance.

ernokaikkonen 0 #37 July 29, 2002 1(number of times I cleared a mal that was ready to be cutaway):3:0 Spent most of the weekend packing reserves and doing some rigging, but had enough time to throw in a couple of attempts for a Mr Bill... The second attempt: I was the "pilot". Right after the exit, my "passenger" decides that in addition to holding on to my harness with his hands, it might be a good idea to grip my legs with his. Not good. The momentum of him throwing his legs around mine tilted us seriously head down while I was pitching the PC. As the opening shock tore the passenger away from me, I started wondering if the world should be spinning the way it was... Then I thought:"Ahh, that line probably shouldn't be going around my leg", and promptly released the line to where it was supposed to be. Looking up, I saw my Fury in a tangled mess on the other side, the other side was fine. There might have been a line over, but if there was, it cleared when I pumped on the rear risers a bit. An uneventful canopy-ride from 1400m down from then on... The passenger lost a shoe when he fell off me. Serves him right for causing me a mal. SkymonkeyONE 4 #41 July 29, 2002 1 (student we had fly downwind into a fence):9:0 I flew in our CASA to Fort Rucker with Johnny Mulford and a few other teammates and did a demo on Thursday and Friday. I made seven jumps on Saturday back at Raeford; mostly work jumps. They had a student in the 82nd club, a 19 year old girl, fail to turn back into the wind prior to landing(which was blowing maybe 10 mph at the time). She rocketed over the DZ, through a tree line, over a house, then through a bush and into a fence. Lucky for her, nothing was broken except possibly her tail bone. Whew! On a brighter note, two more "my generation" skydivers had their sons advance farther down the AFF pipeline. Tim D'Annunzio, a former member of the GK 8-way team, had his 18 year old son get through two levels. His 19 year old son has just over 50 jumps now (in under two months). Poor old Tim was bitching about having to throw down another four grand for gear! He had recently bought himself all new kit the same time he bought gear for the 19 year old. BWAHAHA! He was also inquiring about getting his AFF ticket revalidated so he wouldn't have to pay for his ever-increasing skydiving clan's training. Another former GK, Mike Sweeny (who now runs the wind tunnel on Fort Bragg) was out there watching his 18 year old do his level 5 and 6. Nice. His kid had been a tunnel hog for years, so he is a natural. Chuck
freeflir29 0 #42 July 29, 2002 0:4:0 Well...I did have a first but I don't think it's beer worthy. First time doing a zero G exit from any plane. We had 7 people hangng outside the Otter yesterday and it seems it got a little slow. Ready, Set, GOoo WTF Over...I was trying to get out while dragging Jenn on my back for a Rodeo base. It was about a 10 way Hybrid dive. Never really built because we got out low due to weather moving in. The Rodeo was kinda fun. I've never been that fast on my belly. It's strange to be belly to earth and look straight out at someone in Head Down. I got clocked a little in free fall. I didn't think anything of it at the time but damn is my neck sore today. It certainly didn't feel that hard!!! Did 3 other jumps too. One really bad ass one with Andre. We got inverted foot docks and docked transitions. Pretty cool!!! Almost did a downwind landing. Thats the last time I EVER follow down other jumpers without looking at the flags. I was reaching for my riser (about to hook) When I happened to glance at the flags. OH SHIT!!! OK....Toggle turn...OK...light riser to get cross wind.....surf it in!!!
Deuce 1 #43 July 29, 2002 4 camera suit jumps, 3 with the camera helmet checking vertical range. First CRW jump, did a rotation. Man, that's weird. Once I got my feet hooked in to the lines of the guy below me (thanks Paul) I dragged him all over. Then with him docked on top of me, not having control of the canopy was weirder. First time out in the camera suit (thanks Quade, thanks all on the Camera forum). WOW that's fun.

billo 0 #48 July 30, 2002 Eh here I go again, finishing up the weekend numbers set with a late tuesday night post. Just had to put out a post to say "THANKS" to the dz I wandered to! 0:3:1 (first jump at the Kingman, KS DZ!) Don't konw if anyone has been through there but it was a good time. They had a nice souped up 182 that could always take 4 of us up, even when I figured we might be pushing weight limits! b
lummy 4 #49 July 30, 2002 I'll save ya the embaressment of finishing off the numbers thread (and it's STILL Monday here :) 0:2:1 0, the number of times I got to be on the same load with my little sister. Tandem training almost always takes at least an hour from start of the waivers to the end of the class, but NO, they turned her around in 40 minutes and was on the load takling off JUSt as I was walking back. My fault for not saying "Hey, I want to make sure to be on the load with her". And the Little wench has YET to show me her video.... 2 jumps trying to show someone how to sit using a train exit. First one was going okay except we were spinning so I let him go. The second one was doomed from the start, John decided to go on READY instead of go, and well you got the idea... the Beer is for the first paragraph...I promise not to TP Davis under canopy..
