redkiwi 0 #1 July 30, 2002 What's the best music to listen to en route to or at the DZ? My personal favorite at the moment is Andrew W.K. It's the most energetic, pumped up tunes I've found so far... But I'm always looking for new stuff--any suggestions?ren
Blinky 0 #2 July 30, 2002 me and my mate spent all of last summer charging up the motorway to the DZ singing loudly (if not tunefully) to Iron Maiden, and G'N'R (Lies and Appetite for Destruction)

Jasmin 0 #5 July 30, 2002 I listen to a lot of dance music on the way out there, but an old favourite is the Verve's "Bitter Sweet Symphony". It sounds like a weird choice but my first AFF exit (jump no 32) was put to it, and it just makes me think of that first moment off the door.....aahhhhhh!xj "I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the earth...but then I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with a car either, and that's having tried both." skymut 0 #14 July 30, 2002 I like to listen to something really 'loud' on the way to the dz to get wired. I listen to stuff like Korn, P.O.D., Linkin Park. Maybe some Crytsal Method, Paul Oakenfold etc. The trip home, AFTER all day at the dz is most likely to be something a little more calm as I try to unwind. AggieDave 6 #16 July 30, 2002 Depends on what I've been listening too during the week, it varies wildly. If I really want to get pumped up then I'll throw in some Sepultura.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Zennie 0 #18 July 30, 2002 Depends a lot on my mood. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Staind (Break The Cycle to be exact). I've listened to Slayer, Offspring, Godsmack, KoRn (really been into "Here To Stay" lately), Floyd, Nirvana & Rage a lot as well. Need to pick up the latest POD CD... - Z "Always be yourself... unless you suck." - Joss Whedon

billvon 2,991 #22 July 30, 2002 >Close...but here's how I remember it I wrote that for the Cock Chorus a few years back. Here it is in its entirety: -------------------------- Is this the real life? Or is this Lost Prairie? Coming to skydive To escape from reality Just open your eyes, look up to the skies and see I'm just a floater, I need no sympathy Because I'm leaving high, docking slow Landing fast, hooking low Any way the wind blows Doesn't really matter to me. Bonnie just chopped my main Thought she saw something wrong Pulled that handle now it's gone Hook turns, I had just begun But now she's gone and thrown them all away Bonnie, oohh I just wanna fly If you can't find my main this time tomorrow, I'll be gone, I'll be gone Nothing else matters Too late, now night has come and my canopy was black now I'll never get it back Goodbye, everybody I've got to go Got to leave this boogie now and face my job Bonnie, ooohh Why'd you pull so high? Sometimes I wish you'd never even pulled at all I see a little Stiletto on that man If you don't have a main you can jump my Fandango Faster than a Lightning, very very frightning! Eek! A stiletto Turbo Z-oh A stiletto Turbo Z-oh A stiletto Magnifico! I've got a Stratocloud, nobody loves me He's just a poor boy with a huge canopy Saving his life with that monstrosity Easy come, easy go, but will he still pull low? He will not, no! (he keeps on pulling low) He will not, no! (he keeps on pulling low) scares the DZO (keeps on pulling low) No no no no no Mamma mia, mamma mia, tell them all I don't pull low Now John Leblanc has a Sabre put aside for me, for me, for me! So you think you can tell me how I hafta fly So you think you can tell me to pull by 2.5 Oh, baby, can't do that to me baby, just gotta get out, just gotta get right out of here Anything is OK, long as it's ZP Doesn't really matter Doesn't really matter to me. (any way the wind blows) --------------------- Some notes - This was inspired partly by Bonnie Dutile losing a borrowed canopy right at sunset the night before the Cocks sang. We have yet to be able to sing the song at the Chorus, since we tend to suck at singing.
