other require no round reserves.... just DZO privlage

Why?? Other than the fact that a DZ might be totally surrounded by dangerous obstacles (ie: Ocean, Electrical plant, etc.) I don't understand this requirement.

What makes round reserves so dangerous? I mean weren't round parachutes the main deaccleration device used for about the first thirty some years of our sport?? If they are so deadly IMHO I don't think we would be where we are today.

Gravity, don't open that can of worms.

Or how about some might not feel that jumpers now days are learning the proper way to fly and land a round? Toss most studntns under a round with the amount of training they are getting in the FJC now and most will break a leg or hurt them self.

And I can understand it at DZ with limited or no outs too. Deland comes to mind here. With a steerable canopy outs are easier to make, under a round the wind does the most steering.

There are some DZ's out there with a no hook turn policy too...

Otay is at the base of a large lake, and sits in the middleof three rather tall peaks. The tallest being just over 3000. The ground around the dz is not very friendly. Not a nice place to be having no directional control wouldn't you say? I don't know why Buzz made the DZ cypress required. But oh how i love the view of the Pacific shrouded in fog and the sun setting. Damnit i love that place!! Oh ya the road out there is fun as hell to drive if you have a car that handles well :P

I will see you there hopper. And even think about getting me drunk b/c i have work on monday.

Yes, I will leave that 'can of worms' alone.
