JT!!! 30 Days huh....almost there!! Just don't slip into the trap of spending all 30 of them piss drunk and missing your flight out. I have seen it happen..... Congrats, now Korea can just be a memory that you tell funny stories about.

quade 4 #29 July 19, 2002 Quote 15 minutes from home to work. 10 minutes from home to dz. 5 minutes from work to dz. I hate you. Well, actually, that's not correct. I actually think you're pretty cool, but I hate MY situation compared to yours. I live 5 miles from work, yet it takes me on a good day at least 25 minutes to get to or from work. 60 minutes door-to-door home to DZ. Those pre-dawn 4-way team days can realy suck. quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Scoby 0 #31 July 19, 2002 I commute about 12 miles. However, that's in LA, so it generally takes me half an hour. It sucks a lot and I'm looking to buy something a bit closer in a few months. Housing is expensive here, though. For the DZ, my commute is nearly two hours if someone else is driving, or about an hour and a half if I'm driving. There are a lot of DZs that are an hour and a half away, but none closer. I think that has something to do with LAX airspace.
AndyMan 7 #32 July 19, 2002 I walk 4 blocks, I hop on a water taxi, and ride down the chicago river for 10 minutes. I walk another 4 blocks. It takes me about half an hour, and costs me $1.30. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
sunshine 2 #33 July 19, 2002 It takes me 10-15 minutes to get to/from work. Occasionally when i work late (3:00 is late to me) i get stuck behind the fucking school bus traffic....other than that, can't really complain too much about my commute. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! Think about how much land you need for even a small dropzone and then think of how much that land would be worth anywhere within 30 minutes driving distance of downtown L.A.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Yeah, that sounds like a better reason. I'd move to somewhere more sensible, but I really can't stand commuting.
SniperCJ 0 #38 July 19, 2002 Takes me about 3 minutes to get to work. 37 minutes door to door to the DZ (if I'm hauling...)
skymut 0 #39 July 19, 2002 Live on North Shore, I'd make that commute. Over here in Paris, TX, (pronounce Paaarrruussss), 12 minutes to and 12 minutes back. Sometimes that can be increased by hitting one of the 4 traffic lights in-between, or if someone's cows get out on the highway. Pammi 0 #41 July 20, 2002 QuoteMy drive time to work in the morning is @ 25 min if i get an the road before 7:00am. the drive home is @ 1 hour (freakin people... Learn how to drive...) oops sorry i blew up. I second that :) Although, I nearly AM that too hehe It's taking getting used to when it used to be 5 mins to work, but now it's about 30 to work and anywhere from 45 to an hour and a half home depending on how many wrecks there are. It's not bad though.

Same goes for the weekends. I do work long hours though. You are fortunate. Hold on to that gig. Those are rare in our industry! freeflir29 0 #50 July 20, 2002 QuoteWhere did your mom go to school? OSU-Lima. She grew up in Toledo. Know anyone named Bidlack from Defiance. Thats something like my Mom's aunt and uncle I think. They have a pretty good size farm outside Defiance. Grow lots of corn and a few head of cattle. They have our family reunion out at there farm every year. I haven't been in quite a while but my Mom and Dad usually go up there. In fact my Mom was just trying to talk me into going up there in August. I think thats around the same time as the WFFC. Hmmm....WFFC......Family reunion.......which will I go to???
