What a drag working for public school, only get paid once a month, at the end of the month. Good news , get paid next week...bad news , budget is sucked dry and there are folks 60 miles away at Skydive Dallas jumping very cool planes and balloons and stuff. Unless I can get a $20.00 money tree to sprout roots and grow, there ain't a chance for this weekend. Any other sad souls out there?

I'm a sad soul this weekend too. I told my brother I'd babysit his 21 month old for him. The good thing is that babies are a lot of fun at that age, so she'll at least keep my kids and me entertained. So, we'll probably head off to the pool today, and after we return the baby tomorrow, we'll cap off our weekend with Stuart Little 2.

I feel your pain brother! I'm sitting down in Houston with no money either. I have 2 DZ within 40 minute drives and no cash to jump at either one. I had plans of making the trip to Dallas for the boogie. Had things come up like bills I have to pay or lose stuff. So it was either pay them or walk to work Hold you chin up.

I'm living at my parents house over the summer before I go back to uni, and the nearest dz to me is about 100 miles away and I have no car. Worst is I'm sitting here looking out at beautiful weather.

Suppose I should make the most of the down time, and try to dig out more stuff to sell on ebay. I probably better stop before I get to selling my old, dirty socks. But the great thing is, if I sell those, someone out there will buy them. If I pace my sales, maybe I can have jump money at the end of next month. The 'texas lotto retirement system' has a good rate of return, but man is it hard to get vested into.

I have an "emergency" stash, which is basically a 10 gallon glass jar (it's immense) full of coin. If I ever get low enough that I can't jump, I scoop out a coffe can worth of coins and viola... jump weekend.

I so can't wait to get self-supervised. Then I can afford to jump so much more often. Student jumps are sucking me dry. Of course, I'll probably spend just as much, and jump 3X more often!

OOOO I hear ya on this one brother. What is this once a month paycheck crap with schools anyways? And I have another 10 days to go(YIKES!!!) For me, I always make a point of buying my months jumps ahead of time, so I have no excuse. That and when I go to a new dz, I usually come home with a few JT's (2-3). That way I never have an excuse not to go.
Next weekend is RW for me, but my little sis is going to do a tandem, and she even said she'd pay for my jumps :)

Aha! I found the perfect alternative for low cash flow weekends in the summer. 38oC, At the beach with my dog, laying in the sun soaking up rays, reading my PIM's. Just gotta do something skydivingish. If I can't jump, I'll read about it instead!
