Blinky 0 #1 July 9, 2002 Anyone got experience of sorting out a bad back after a much-too-hard opening? I did it 4 weeks ago and I've been resting, stretching, doing dorsal raises every day and it's getting better but just way too slowly (lucky UK weather is so rubbish I'm not missing out on too much jumping). I have no intention of not jumping again but don't want give myself a permanent injury. Any suggestions how much longer I've got to wait and anything I can do to accelerate recovery? skydiverbrian 0 #2 July 9, 2002 Probably just a pulled muscle. My experience has been pain, discomfort, and restricted movement for about a couple weeks. If it's been that long since the injury and you're still sore, I'd go see a doc about it. You might only be a 60-minute massage away from perfect health. lowhook 0 #4 July 10, 2002 Go see a doctor! But I would not jump until it heals or you have sought out medical advice. At the very least a good orthopaedic doctor will give you the right exercises to do. Take it from a guy who broke 5 bones in his back...don't mess around. Dumpster 0 #6 July 11, 2002 I don't know how you feel about chiropractors (sp?) but mine is a goddess - I get neck and back problems on a regular basis, and she works miracles - I'm usually back up to speed in 2-3 days - But in any case see a professional before jumping again!
