skybytch 273 #3 July 10, 2002 I use MusicMatch. Reasonably fast, seems to be decent quality copies. Download for free at http://www.musicmatch.com
PhillyKev 0 #4 July 10, 2002 Windows Media Player works great for me.
Spy38W 0 #5 July 10, 2002 QuoteWindows Media Player works great for me. Huh? You can get .MP3's from Windows Media Player? -- Hook high, flare on time
PhillyKev 0 #6 July 10, 2002 Yeah, but come to think of it only the version for XP will. Real Audio is what I used before that, that worked fine as well. You can save in mp3 or RA format, and actually, RA made smaller files with the same quality settings.
wlie 0 #7 July 10, 2002 I use iTunes. QuickTime Pro works too. And yes, I use a Mac.
TomAiello 26 #8 July 10, 2002 iTunes is way the best free mp3 ripping software. My friend at Apple tells me that the PC version is scheduled for release sometime in the fall, and will likely also be free (it's a marketing ploy for the iPod--which I also happen to love).-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
ramon 0 #9 July 10, 2002 Grip and cD paranoia. search www.freshmeat.net. CD paranoia can make repairs in small scratches or skips, by interpolating between the missing data (repair the music not the CD for the post hoes that might be reading.) ramon"Revolution is an abrupt change in the form of misgovernment.", Ambrose Bierce. indyz 1 #10 July 10, 2002 QuoteGrip and cD paranoia. Those are my personal favorites. cdparanoia might run under windows, but as far as I know Grip is Un*x (maybe even Linux?) only.

SkyDolphin 0 #13 July 10, 2002 Use Windows Media Format instead of MP3. The file size is smaller so you can get more music in less space. Rhonda
Snowflake 0 #14 July 10, 2002 Thanks all.........I used to use real juke box but it now seems all the MP3's I made with it will not import into Adobe premier......plus I upgraded to real player and it upgraded my jukebox and then would only let me burn at 96k when I asked them about it they said to give them more money. I told the cock wallopers that "they wern't microsoft and to quit acting like them" screw them I pay for something and then when I upgrade a totally different app it upgrades my jukebox for me without asking grrrr time for a beer
Snowflake 0 #15 July 10, 2002 I will not support bill gates in his quest to have total control. MP3 is an open format besides I can always use a lower rate if I want a smaller file size
indyz 1 #16 July 11, 2002 QuoteMP3 is an open format Not really. Technically any unlicensed MP3 player or encoder is using patented technology. Because of this, Fraunhofer (the people that hold the patents) wants you to pay royalties on any product, commercial or free, than can handle MP3s. Now, Ogg Vorbis, on the other hand, is totally free and open.
