Lindsey 0 #27 July 8, 2002 2--times I threw up on the way home from Moss Point today....but given that I drove 978 miles this weekend, that's a ratio of about .002:1, so still pretty light: 2: a bunch....not prepared to count 'em up yet Made 1 jump with gimped up Anytime Andy, and 1 with Sinkster! Jake Sink is a swell guy. Had a super weekend despite the guy pounding in right next to me Saturday (landing gone awry).....sucked. Getting lost (exaggeration) with Andy in S. Alabama was Andy's fault.....NEVER trust a newbie navigator....but hangin' with him in the deep south was a treat! Oh....and Kreg's a cheap date.....though he'll deny it to his death.... Peace~ Lindsey-- A conservative is just a liberal who's been mugged. A liberal is just a conservative who's been to jail
Kris 0 #28 July 8, 2002 2 (Burns on me from fireworks):4:1 Had an amazing weekend with the crew from Skydive Hinton in Oklahoma. They decided to go to the South Canadian river to set off some fireworks so me and three others decided to make a skydive into the area of the river where they were at. That was a first so my case of beer will be supplied next weekend. These guys know how to party, I think we went through at least $300 worth of fireworks, including the big mortar-type. It was a great show. The only bad part is that my canopy is filthy with river sand. Luckily, most of it came off with my skydiving today. AggieDave 6 #29 July 8, 2002 8(gallons of water drunk):8:too damn many I'm a fairly heavy sweater, to top that off, I'm the new Staff Packer for SD Aggieland, so I sweated my nutz off this weekend packing (stupid Texas heat + serious amounts of humidity). Got 8 jumps, lost my Oakleys on a hop&pop (learned a very expensive lesson), the DZO's $1000 grill commited suicide out of the back of my truck on the way to the DZ, got some schweet swoops and left 2 large divot/ruts where I biffed HARD on landing when my canopy dove after a wind gust on final (damn did that hurt). All and all, it was a great extended weekend, I don't think I've ever spent this many consecutive days at a DZ, it was exhuasting, but fun.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." billvon 2,991 #30 July 8, 2002 0:11:1 for me. >I'm almost looking forward to Monday. Woke up Saturday morning >to an almost flat tire. Limped to the gas station and put air in it. > Came home and did laundry and cleaned the kitchen. So that's where you were Saturday! Jan mentioned you weren't there. I was jumping at Otay; Judy and I organized for a bunch that ranged from 4 to 12. Was a good day. Julie and Molly were there, as was the Harry Leischer/Janna/Joe/??? 4-way. >Woke up Sunday morning to a totally flat tire. So that's where you were Sunday! We made five jumps - the last one was for Darryl's 1500th jump. It actually worked, even though no one had much hope on the ground. Molly was there too and did a great job on the 8 to 12 ways. Quote from Darryl on his 1500th - "Thanks everyone for coming; I know everyone on this load except for that blonde woman over there."

Interestingly, I wasn't really worried, the guy who taught me to pack seemed to think I could do it and his confidence made me feel OK about it. I had a really nice opening. scottbre 0 #37 July 8, 2002 0 (Number of times I had to ride the plane down at Hinckley this weekend):11:0 Spent the weekend and a nice chunk of change at Skydive Chicagoland this weekend, taking advantage of their 14 dollar jump weekend. Freeflew all weekend except for 2 bigway tracking dives. (Never even pulled out my RW suit.) My freefly skills are coming along nicely. "Your mother's full of stupidjuice!" freeflir29 0 #39 July 8, 2002 1 (Number of times I suffered from heat exhaustion):5:1(Coach Rating) Finished my Coach rating jumps and got my note from Mom... Fun jumps over all. Learned some things and I'm sure I'll learn a lot more from students. Did my pre-second "Eagle" with Andre. That is one fun move and makes for awesome video!!! Had to ride the plane down once. Thank God they called. We landed in 25+ MPH winds with rain and lots of lightning. I had my helmet on and was getting ready to open the door when they called. *Whew* that was close. It was really nice when we left....... Got a nice case of heat exhaustion first thing Saturday. Spent most of the rest of that day on the ground. Bejeezuuus it was hot!!!! Over all...pretty cool weekend.

Slappie 9 #41 July 8, 2002 0(no comment):2:0 Got one 2-way FF with pop at Spaceland on Thursday 4th. Exit was ok pop is a "floaty bitch" hehe was supposed to be a 2-way sit.. I spent the entire dive on my back trying to slow enough so he could keep up. Great dive anyways!! Did another 2-way on Saturday with Zennie. Exit was a bit screwy.. I corked on the hill. Got it stable, then went into a stand to catch Zennie. Back to the sit Zennie got within 8' of me an then 4500 came wasn't able to try again had a family party to go to that afternoon. All in all had a great weekend!! Got my 50th jump finally!! hehe "Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them." AndyMan 7 #45 July 8, 2002 Hmm.. 5:2:9 Yes, that second number was a 2. I'll get to that later. My flight left Chicago at 6am thursday, after a quick stopover in Memphis I made it to Mobile, Alabama. I made my first stop at Walmart, and bought one cumfyChair. I took that chair to the beach in Biloxy, and read my book until I fell alseep. :D Thursday night I drove to New Orleans, met n2skdvn, watched the fireworks over the river. Yay! Friday I spend again on the Biloxy beech, again with my book and my cumfyChair. I got a sunburn on my legs. Yay! By Friday night I'd met up with Lindsey and driven back to New Orleans, and I got my introduction to Southern Cooking. I like! Saturday we made it to the DZ for the first time. I took my ComfyChair and after sitting in it for a few hours made my first POOR decision - I made a skydive, even with my broken ankle. Perhaps one of the stupidest decisions I've made, but dammit it was fun. The first jump was a two-way with Lindsey, one of my most memorable jumps, I'm sure. I landed fine on my ass. Shortly afterwards we met up with Sinkster - cool guy! Saturday night we ventured deep into the forests of Bayou le Batre, Alabama to visit a party hosted by some local jumpers. And yes, I got us lost on the way home. LOST! LOST IN THE BAYOU! Oh well. We did shortly figure our way out of the forest, though. Sunday Lindsey headed home and left me at the dropzone... where I made ANOTHER poor decision and made my second jump of the weekend. I rented some gear, did a solo... took the student gear head down, wondered why the reserve flap was whacking against my head.... Doh! It opened fine, I landed fine on my ass. Another good jump. Yay! A weather hold came in around 4 and I broke out the beer, which me and some local jumpers drank until around 10:00pm sunday night. My collection of firsts: First time in Alabama First time in Mississippi First time in Louisiana First time jumping with Lindsey First time drinking with n2skdvn First time Falling asleep on a beach First time jumping with a broken Ankle. First time jumping a Talon First time jumping a Monarch I THINK that's it. A GOOD weekend. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
