freaksister 0 #27 July 5, 2002 At least now you know what KIND of canopy you want, right??? I still say they don't accordion. LOL
conoro 0 #28 July 5, 2002 Quote I'm sick of it because they talk down to me. I should have left gender references out of it. Although I'm not going to deny that I suspect that has a little something to do with it. You too eh? It's more to do with ego than sex I imagine. They're always right, right? Yeah. Sure. Diplomacy doesn't always work. Kick em in the nuts (yes, they are always male). On the colours thing, I'll agree with PhreeZone on that one. I worried myself sick about colours, trying loads of different combinations of this and that and matching colours etc etc. Then I bought used. Worked out well - here's the colours on my PD-170 (had to struggle to remember, you don't spend the jump looking at your canopy. Is it square, flyable, end cells open? Yup. Next!): black, lemon, jade, 3xblkberry, jade, lemon, black. Others have told me they like the colours - mainly cause they can see them - they're not all earth or all sky tones. PLFKING 4 #29 July 5, 2002 QuoteHaiku is not static, you immobile stick in the mud. Now go straight to hell where you can be with others like you. Correct me if I'm wrong (but i don't think I am).....haiku is very static....it HAS to be 5-7-5. This forces the poet to think about composition (although I know that "thinking" is probably a foriegn concept to you).....otherwise it would just be free-form poetry. I still love you, Jess even when you call me names and wish me in hell. Btw.....I took your advice, and went there. Now Clay, WB, Phree and I are waiting on your doorstep. Please grab your pitchfork and hurry home. Don

See: http://www.ahapoetry.com/haiku.htm Particularly the first essay, "Haiku Techniques", by Jane Reichhold, for a discussion of the evolution of English Language Haiku beyond the static 5-7-5 model. In general, it has been accepted practice in English Language Haiku to diverge from the 5-7-5 model since the mid to late 1980's.-- Tom Aiello Tom@SnakeRiverBASE.com SnakeRiverBASE.com
PLFKING 4 #31 July 5, 2002 Well, in glancing at just a little of Tom's reference.....I guess i'll have to bite the bullet . Jess, I'm not too big to admit when I'm wrong. Abject humiliation, Acute embarrassment, These are what i feel. I humbly bow to your superior intelligence -- please kick me in ass. My only defense is that I was a child of the 60s and 70s.......and it's obvious the drugs took their toll. Don

Jessica 0 #34 July 5, 2002 QuoteOn the colours thing, I'll agree with PhreeZone on that one. Yep. You're right...it's just in my nature to worry. I have no idea what the colors on my current canopy are either other than this mishmash of blue and pink and purple. Center cell's blue, that's all I know. I think I'm going to go with mostly purple. I've always been a purple kind of girl.Skydiving is for cool people only
