Injured Jumper Needs Cheerin' Up!

Recommended Posts

http://www.perriscam.com/meller.htm

On a night jump last Saturday, Perris regular Keith Meller suffered a broken neck. He's currently mostly paralyzed, and has been told by doctors that this is likely to be a permanent condition. As you can imagine, he's not in the best mental state right now (as are his friends and family); he could really use all the prayers, positive energy, whatever, you can muster up, along with emails, cards, etc. letting him know we're all thinking about him.

Pictures, info on his current condition and an email address to send good wishes to are available at the above link, which is being maintained and updated by Jack Gramley, Perris' general manager (you rock Jack!). Some of us from work will be going to visit him later this week; I'll print out this thread before we go so feel free to post your good wishes here too.

Thanks gang. Be safe out there.... 'kay?

Keith --

You've always amazed me at what you've been able to overcome. Whenever I have some small issue that I think is keeping me from what I want to do, I think of the things you've had to deal with. I've always admired your courage and strength.

Believe that you can make it through this better than anyone says. I know you'll work hard to do that -- you always have.

I'll see you soon.

Keith!

Your winning spirit and gentle demeanor always spoke volumes to me. You've shared some of your life's challenges with your friends and conquored them in stride. You have been an inspiration to me, that's for sure in this.

Every day I visit you there are more exciting improvements. They might seem small right now, but believe me they are coming around more quickly than I've seen in most of my patients. Like today, you started moving your hand! I am amazed.

Just wait until they let you out of that bed! You'll teach them!

Keep the faith,
Lori Thomas

Every time he sinks into a dark mood we remind him of all of the friends, skydivers and co-workers that are sending their thoughts, prayers and notes of encouragement to him. It never fails to bring a smile to his face. I checked the Dropzone.com forum yesterday and there were LOTS of messages from skydivers around the world sending their thoughts and prayers to him. When I told Keith this his eyes opened wide and he said he couldn't believe it. These are all things that he needs to hear and see right now.

The above is from the Perriscam page. Thanks to all of you for posting your good wishes - you're all awesome :)
