AggieDave 6 #1 June 26, 2002 Well, just got back from Ortho Doc and I've got good and bad results. I tore my MCL, but that's not something they operate on. I go back next week to see if there is any damage to my ACL, although the Doc doesn't think so, he just couldn't do a complete examination due to my knee being very inflamed. On the plus side, he gave me some anti-inflamitory drugs so I can get off the Vicadin, so I'm not going to be in a cloudy slump all day now. Good news, he told me I could jump this weekend if I felt up to it. Now I have a robo-brace hinged knee brace thing that I'm wearing, I'm going to spend time working my knee and icing it in cycles so I can get everything working enough to jump this weekend. I'm just so very glad that its not my ACL and that I'm not going to need surgury, I was very worried about that.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." freeflir29 0 #3 June 26, 2002 Sweet!! Use the ice...I mean get to where you can leave a big ice pack on for an hour or more. It takes a little getting used to and is even a little painful but really does wonders.

I think you made a mistake in your typing there. Shouldn't that be in the "bad news" category?

Muenkel 0 #11 June 26, 2002 Hey Dave, Glad to hear you are going to be doing well. I'm just going to add my .02 though. My personal trainer told me the worst areas to injure are the shoulders and knees. You really have to let those areas heal. Please make sure you are 100% before you jump. You gotta take care of that knee. Good luck bro. _________________________________________ Chris
billvon 3,006 #12 June 26, 2002 As a suggestion, if you have a bike, get out and ride it (slowly!) The cyclic motion helped me out when I screwed up my knee, and restored a lot of flexibility.
