what dz has the most beautiful view in the world?

Recommended Posts

from altitude i mean. I have only seen Lodi, Empuriabrava and the UK (Hinton). Having done all but 2 of my freefalls from Empuria, i think i have been thoroughly spoilt for views before i have even started in this thing.........

I jumped in Marathon, Florida. It is just before Key West. We landed on a small strip of land. At the beginning of the day there was these beautiful cumulus clounds and all you could see was water all around. The ocean on one side and the Gulf of Mexico on the other. At sunset we all did hop and pops and watching the sunset over the gulf while flying over the ocean was a beautiful thing. I don't think anywhere I ever jump again will compare to that.

Of the DZs I've been to, Empuria is in deed the one with the nicest views....

I hear Gap is wonderfull too with the Alps close by.

There are a couple of DZ right smack in the middle of the alps in Switzerland (I've got video of a friend doing some jumps in one, and wow.....)

Borneo was nice too...;) but its not a regular dz

Sebastian is runner up in my list of regular DZs I've jumped at.... I'm sure Titusville is just as nice.

Anywhere in Quebec in the fall is awsome with the colors.

Skydive Sebastian has the most beautiful view of the dz's i've been to. On my first jump there i did nothing but look at the scenery in freefall. Hope to get back there again someday.

I'm sure Lost Praire in Montana is right up there. Glacier Park is just a little ways away. I haven't jumped there yet but have driven around that area a lot. The mountains provide a great view. Jumping onto the beach at Emerald Coast was a pretty cool view as well. B|

>from altitude i mean.

Brown Field - mountains where you exit, and the plane flies over the Pacific on the climb.

Lost Prairie, Montana - no people as far as you can see, just mountains and one highway.

Kapowsin - Snow capped peaks in the background, green all around.

The old Skydive Long Island - climb over the Great South Bay, jump over some of the most beautiful parts of Long Island. Especially cool in the fall.

San Carlos - exits were over the ocean, and landings were on the beach in front of the hotel.

And demos:

The best was probably Cabo. Clear blue water, white sandy beaches, really cool rocks and palm trees on the landing area.

I have seen pictures of Empuria, but only jumped at Lillo, Spain, which was quiltwork arid land. The prettiest DZ in my experience is Sebastian, with the view of Lake Okeechobee at Skydive America near sunset coming as a close second. When it's clear at Perris the view of Mt. San Gorgonio and San Jacinto to the east is great also. Night jumps near Chicago with the city and the moon were also unforgetable. Want to do Marathon key for sure.
I don't drink during the day, so I don't know what it is about this airline. I keep falling out the door of the plane.

Stevensville which is South of Missoula, Mt. is the most scenic place I have ever jumped. There is the Selway Bitterroot Wilderness on one side and the Saphire Range on the other. Some of the peaks go up to around 9,500 feet. Steve1

One of the most beautiful views I have ever seen from altitude is Skydive Monterey Bay. The sunsets over the Pacific Ocean can just be otrageous. Actually the view in monterey is always good unless it's foggy.........:P

Also Kapowsin and Snohomish in Washington State have epic views as well........

I gotta give Lost Prairie my vote as the best view I have seen. Mountains as far as you can see, snowcapped, pinetree forests and deep blue lakes. Truly awesome.
Night jumps in Chicagoland, with clear skies and you can see the city lights.....cool view, but that's as good as the Midwest can offer. THe plus side to the Midwest is you can always find an out for an off field landing. If you hit something around here, you were aiming at it.:P
